  1. If that is the case I am not sure I understand what you mean. The body outline looks the same to me - you must be talking about something else?
  2. One of out cats has decided that it is perfectly acceptable to pee in front of the fireplace. The trouble is once they decide it is ok they keep doing it. The smell of the stuff inside the pee attracts them back even when it is washed off. At first it was on the rug but after trying to wash and remove the scent she carried on so we chucked that out and bought a plastic rug that could be washed more effectively. That didn't help so we chucked that out but she still pees on the floorboards in front of it from time to time. I read an online tip that cats don't care for the smell of certain essential oils and it suggested that the citrus oil contained in lemon or orange peel could be extracted by boiling it for 10 mins then after it was cool spraying it around. Since I tried that she hasn't peed there. Might be worth putting lemon oil on your bass? Otherwise your cat might believe it is OK to do it again.
  3. They do now! These new ones are like this. 6 string and 4 string.

Pleased to add a line to Rich's feedback thread - bought a hard case for my Stagg EUB - great nick, good price, good comms etc. Nice friendly chap, shame I couldn't stay to natter but I had a long drive home. Long enough to look admiringly at his rather nice Precision, mind you. Many thanks, Rich.
  5. Thanks again. I may look at the Hipshot Supertone as a replacement if I find I can't gt used to this. I put one on an Epiphone EB-0 when I had one a few years back and thought it was worthwhile. Have to say I am enjoying this a lot. Rehearsing on Sunday so it will be great to see how it sits in the mix.
  6. Thanks. Would you say it is any more rounded in that corner?
  7. What difference would you say that has made? The 3 point as fitted seems to work well enough but there is a little bit that I catch my hand on, makes it a bit sharp to rest there.
  8. Never, ever considered doing that. Thank you - such a brilliant idea! A giant hearing aid!
  9. 3.4kgs. And what a little beauty it is, too! Got some flats coming, will be amazing.
  10. I was there too - born in '57 and did most of my formative listening in the very late 60s, early 70s. I guess your gang of mates called stuff different to my gang of mates. We described Zep and Deep Purple as being heavy rock. Black Sabbath were the first 'heavy metal' band, I believe the expression was coined because of their industrial roots, and the name stuck for the genre of music kind of followed on from that - more to do with distorted, not just overdriven, guitars. But my crowd never referred to Led Zep or Deep Purple as heavy metal, ever. The more complex music from bands like Yes and Genesis were called prog rock. NWOBHM came long a tad later. But maybe different location had a different perspective.
  11. I'd say, also, that is somewhat comparing apples with pears. No way Deep Purple could be described as 'Metal' in my dictionary. Modern equivalent, perhaps, would be Rival Sons - just good old fashioned RnB based rock.
  12. More a case of Policing in the early 90s being a different ball game to 2019, I'd say.
  13. What jabs do I need? Not been up north (past Colchester) on my own before.
  14. Has the snow thawed up there yet?
  15. Nail varnish?
  16. In that case consider it sold!
  17. Might you be around Grantham on Thursday, lunchtime-ish? I happen to be driving to Bourne that day.
  18. Nah, black strings but red knobs and fret markers.
  19. Cancel that, I'll weigh mine when it arrives on Weds 😂
  20. If you have the means available, would you be able to weigh it, please?
  21. IKEA! Whodathunkit - looks fab. We have a bit of a mid-century modern thing going on (=junk). A visitor once said our place looked like a hospice shop! Anyway, having a deep and careful think about one of these DC jobs. TBH the biggest decision is which finish - cherry, brown or ebony?
  22. That's for the vid - gives a great impression of what these are like. I am currently returning several times a day to a for sale ad in the classifieds - a '73 EB-0 that has the pup more centrally placed. Looks like one of these would do exactly the same job but a couple of hundred quid cheaper. Plus I prefer the looks of the LP Junior to the sharper horns of the SG. Also some pretty funky mid-century furniture there? The side table and armchair. Are they old ones?
  23. I'm hoping to go so look forward to that.
  24. I seem to have been blessed with the uncanny and unfailing ability to buy expensive, sell cheap. The Sadim Touch - reverse of Midas. Need some gold transmuting into bass metal? hand it over.
  25. I have much respect for him. Not only as a player but as a human being. He was very shabbily treated by EVH in so many respects but never gets into any tit for tat slagging - I've watched interviews where he is being pushed for detail about how he felt about reading he'd been sacked etc but he steadfastly refuses to bite. EVH even went as far as saying that he sang MA's vocal part on the records and taught him how to play the bass - no reaction from MA.
