1. Hiya.
2. Last gigging band I was in we all got a bit of attention at one time or another. During the whole time the band was together, every member had serious partners of their own so nothing ever happened as far as I'm aware. I seem to mostly attract unattractive people from both genders.... humm....
3. Hiya.
4. Good luck! Let us know how it goes.
5. Sorry to not be able to contribute any advice, but I really like the shape of the body and the neck looks really nice too.
6. my other half drying her hair. Grr far too early for noise like that.
7. didn't realise until it was just brought up (had to go and try it out) but there is a little lag between patch changes on the Floor Pod. Fine if you only use one patch per song but potentially a problem if you need to switch very quickly live. Having said that its a very small amount of time so could probably be worked around if necessary. What I do is use the floor pod for amp modelling and effects I want through the whole song and then separate effects (usually just an overdrive pedal) for changes during the song.
8. Tasty, simple can be best
9. I have the floor pod and previous posts are not far off IMHO It is mostly an amp simulator (let me know if anyone has managed to get a good sound out of the synth function) but I do use the effects too, they are pretty simple but the filter and the chorus do what I need for a couple of songs. Amp sounds are interesting to play with - mostly I end up with (EDIT: personalised versions of) the RnB model for clean and then brit or grind for dirty sounds. Expression pedal is a new one for me and I've loved playing around with volume swells and wah effects. All in all a fun bit of kit. Shame that I don't really have much cause for any effects other than overdrive at the moment. Unfortunately I have not played with the Zoom B2.1u but I've only heard good things about it.
10. Hiya!
11.
my 10 month old daughter, snoring on my chest...
Has to one of the greatest sounds a person can hear. Congratulations
12. I reckon at the moment that I'm most influenced by Dirk Lance Les Claypool Tim Commerford edit- Oh and Jack Lawrence (The Greenhornes, Raconteurs, Dead Weather)
13.
No- I try and avoid getting sentimentally attached to inanimate objects. I like them for what they allow me to do but there's no deeper connection, any more than I have a particularly spiritual connection to my kettle or my laptop.
+1 they can sound, look and feel wonderful but they are objects. Sorry but love just doesn't come into it.
14. good stuff, great playing from everyone I thought. lovely groove
15.
Most usually my part ends up being a slightly bastardised version of the original with personal fixes to cover the bits I can't seem to get right
That's what I'm ending up with at the moment. We're playing a few motown tunes and I just can't play well enough to replicate the lines!
16. I've been thinking about this very topic recently as I've just joined a covers band for the first time and would be really interested on people's opinions on this. Lets be honest, on the majority of songs, the average punter probably wouldn't notice a different bassline as long as it fits with the song.
17. Never during a gig, and only a couple of times ever. I think G strings when I was trying to learn slap. I always carry spare strings and usually a spare bass, just in case.
18. Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip - Angles my favourite spoken word/rapper at the moment

oo nice, any chance of some sound clips?
21. Nope, started out on clarinet, hence my penchant for a tight embouchure. but put it in the attic of my parent's house and haven't played in ages. Picked up bass a few years back and have played acoustic guitar (badly) and keyboards (very badly) for a few months but now getting tempted to pick up an electric guitar for recording purposes. Very much see myself as a bass player who tinkers with other instruments.
22. er woah! its a bit more metal than I can handle but sounding good. Did you record with your Streamer?
23.
Mail order bride?
would that be good value at £35?
