SOLD

ooo. Now that is desirable. Can't justify a purchase at the moment though
  2.
I've wondered about those stands. While I can understand that it's good to get a small cab/combo above stage level, is it such a good thing to tilt it upwards? Would be fine of the player but not so good for the audience. Or are we also assuming a line into the PA - in which case it's really only acting as a stage monitor?
I use my amp to create the sound and as a monitor. I'm always put through the pa aswell. It is a monitor but if you have an amp that colours the sound and that sound is put through the pa then its a bit more than just monitoring.
  3.
im fascinated as to what Industrial Rock is..?
I had the same question. According to Wikipedia this is an early example.

  5.
Borrow a beer crate.
Mmm a classic solution but unfortunately a beer crate won't help with the tilting which is very useful on little stages.
Been pondering this myself. Been using a 115 and a 410 and the height is great, but now I`m using the 410 HLF on it`s own it`s too low. So what do I use to get it up to chest height?
Hmm thats a tricky one. Thats a big cabinet to lift on a stand of any sort.
  6. Hey all. I use an amp stand like this to lift and angle my small rig for small gigs. As transport is becoming an issue for me I'd like to try something a bit more portable. Has anyone (or anyone's guitarist) had any experience with anything like this? The blurb says it holds 34kg, what do you reckon?
  7. Pretty happy at the moment. Lovely sounding amp and teeny tiny cabinet which does the job I ask of it perfectly with an extra cabinet for big gigs. Can't say I won't want something else at some stage so truly happy? dunno.
  8. Bump, I love my SP210. So small and easy to transport.

Hiya, Yeah Leicester! Welcome to the forum.
  10.
Ha ha, I sold my Markbass and now just use the sp210. I'm thinking of looking at barefaced.. either the midget or super twelve
Do you raise the SP210 off the floor?
  11.
Thanks Rob, Is this combination loud enough or do you still need to push the bass up in your pa monitor? I like it when I get most of my sound from the stage (the cab/s behind me) as opposed to from the pa wedges in front of me.
Its plenty loud! My covers band has a guitarist using a 4x12, keyboards, drums and 3 vocals and it easily copes with that. To be honest I often just use the SP210 on an amp stand for my originals band (1 guitarist with small combo, drums and 2 vocals), they are a bit short to sit on the ground as a lot of sound will just go past your shins but if they're raised and titled a bit it does the job perfectly for me.
  12. Interesting stuff. Edit - delete stupid question
  13. I know its not exactly the same but I run an SP210 with an Ashdown MAG 210T (vertically stacked) for my bigger gigs. Sounds good to my ears Edit - just realised how old this thread is!
  14. I'm seriously considering quitting one band (covers) so that I have more time to focus on my originals and can go back to seeing more bands live. Gotta say though I love watching bands at nights I am playing at.
  15.
Dont care too much what people do with the settings because I know exactly what mine are and I assume the kit I have is capable of operating at any of the available control settings.
+1 really not that fussed what settings people use. If I'm sharing I'll set my amp for the space and make a note of the settings for quick resetting if someone else wants to change them. I have 2 rules, 1) no drinks on top and 2) unplug at the amp end of the cable.
  16. I don't have anything boutique but its not the usual stuff which sometimes get comments People usually seem quite interested in my rig (and amp stand if I'm using it) but it is bright orange so stands out a fair bit. Edit - in response to the OP, no I rarely see anything that special at gigs.
  17. Bit late but we had a solid gig at The Shed in Leicester on Wednesday night. Turn out was ok, an audience member recorded some songs on a phone and uploaded to Youtube. Quality is understandably a bit rubbish, really strange to see yourself playing. Link if you're interested
  18. Good luck with the sale bump. As you can see from the signature I currently use the same gear on sale here. All tried and tested in gigs and recommended. What have you got your eye on?
  19. Fair enough. Will be very interested when this gets back underway.
  20. Was there any progress on this?
  21. I do stack vertically if I'm using 2 cabinets. Better dispersion aside, its a smaller footprint on stage and lifts one cabinet closer to your ears. If I'm only using 1 cabinet I will use an amp stand (like this) to point it at my ears.

    Hello
I am currently looking to customise my Yamaha RBX 370a that i've been using as my go to bass since I was 13, in order to breathe some new life into it, anybody have any recommendations?
Welcome to the forum, loads of good, friendly advice to be had. Customise in what way? IMO new pickups would make the most difference to how it sounds.
  23.
Good here, ain't it?
Yes, yes it is. Welcome.
  24.
I hurt my hand in the gym, so I was not pleased to find my Spector in my gig bag... not when I'd been thinking it would have my Lakland Jazz inside. Bit more of a reach on the Spector, which started to show in the third hour of rehearsal. Still, what a sound!
Ouch.
  25.
rOB - I think this is the first person I've spotted here with a Schecter C4 like I used to have and from your pic it looks like it's the same colour as well. I sold mine about 5 or 6 yrs ago, I wonder if it's the same one or did you have yours from new?
Ha, no. I've had mine from new. Love it to bits. The playability and sound just work for me.
