  1. However my new KSD Proto J 5str rescue project is the heaviest thing I have ever tried. Will confirm accuracy of this impression via B/room Scale soonish, whilst avoiding any temptation to check My own!
  2. VERY heavy pretty battered and I think John East is the way to go (if I ignore the cost versus bass purchase price !!!;). 35" scale a new sensation for me too. This is going to be a "project/rolling restoration" for sure.
  3. Hello Jonathon. Nice Basses. Enjoy London, I tend to take the place for granted being a 4eva resident.
  4. The Laughing Halibut. My local chippie,
  5. Friends had motorcycle frames on their racers that were made there .Also used to do car delivery work at BCA and around Derby area.
  6. In Westminster that would amount to "suicide by cop" as evidenced by recent news stories.
  7. Cool. Have seen the crazy Turangalila Symphony Live a few times. The great Anthony Jackson's a massive Messiaen fan too.
  8. Thanks. You're in Spondon Derbyshire or did you originate from there?
  9. I live in Horseferry Rd, just across from where New Scotland Yard used to be.
  10. My M2 about 8lbs😉. Just plopped it on my bathroom scales
  11. Nowadays he looks rough enough to be "self isolating"/ infected.
  12. Anyone else resenting scrotes who spit on Pavements even more than previously
  13. Just got this on E'bay battered/roadworn and old, but £175 a bargain I reckon. Will post Pics when I pick up. Any advice regarding a refresh of pre-amp or a suitable replacement would be appreciated.
  14. Hello All. John from Westminster. Been lurking here for a bit with the odd facetious comment. Returnee to Bass after a long hiatus, been playing again for 3yrs. Lefty initially with Squier VM Jazz, but accumulating some 5strs. An ancient but pristine Cort (amazingly good for peanuts money) Sire M2 (love it) 90's Aria Rsb from a German relative (weighs too much but great) and now today off E'bay a battered/roadworn Ken Smith Design Proto J for £175. No more bass purchases, but maybe a better Amp and more practice, graunchy 57 y/old body permitting!
  15. But even moderately priced Sire 5er's have CFR Necks.
  16. Animal Society at the Vortex Thursday night. Jazz Rock and very enjoyable.
  17. Can see that lot tottering around the Stage in powered exo-skeletons!
  18. An old hippy acquaintance of mine organised a Gig with a up & coming band many years ago. Was agreed that they'd given a Bar Tab in payment. Sadly for him it was the Pogues!
  19. And you can illuminate the stage with your"ready-brek kid" impersonation?
  20. Very likely. Does Phil Collins still pay Alimony?
  21. Used to be a drinking buddy of John Martyn's which was probably a dangerous precedent!
  22. No was midweek tired and needed to get home even though I'm only a couple of miles away. As a long time Krantz fan felt enough to have seen him live for the 1st time. Would have loved to see him with Anthony Jackson.
  23. Justice are v interesting. Some massive tracks with some deft Bass
  24. Johansson Johansson & Holdsworth. Heavy Machinery.
