1. My hovercraft is full of eels.
 2. I had one, it was the best sounding cab I've ever owned. The only bugbear is the weight, in fact that's the only reason I moved it on. £100 is a completely ludicrous bargain. Grab with both hands.
 3.
For a change I'm now using the new Fender Rumble gear and like it a lot.
WHAT? Fender fanhood? You 'like' it?? We'll have none of that here!
 4. Some good FMIC-based debate going on on a GB thread in the Amps/cabs section too. This, for example.
 5.
I thought Jeff Genzler was actually [s]working within[/s] plotting to bring down the Fender organisation from within.
Fixed to reflect wishful thinking on my part.
 6.
I don't know about science but every time I hear 'Moondance', I want to vomit.
Just read the tab instead Bilbo, it'll make you feel better
 7. Is there any law that says you have to actually have both cabs plugged in..? If you take both but only power one up, you get the look you've always wanted without the volume problems. If anyone tells you you're just being a complete poser, tell 'em it's a spare. I have two 1x15s. 90% of the time I gig with just one and that's easily enough; I only use both when the PA is vocals-only, or for big venues (as in 1000+ capacity) with large stages. As others have said above, I'd rather have a big rig ticking over than a smaller one yelling its nads off. Justification? If we had to justify all the kit we have, we'd hardly have anything. If you want it, and most of all can comfortably afford it without plunging into debt, then just do it. Why not?
 8.
WANTED: Rack Mount Kit for a Genz Benz Shuttle amp. Pretty pretty please!
No chance. Go and buy one new for about a million pounds, like I had to
 9. I wouldn't mind betting that Fender slapped some fairly onerous handcuffs on Jeff G to prevent him from going straight into competition with them. I agree with the others above -- if FMIC had adopted/rebadged the Benz designs, it would have revolutionised their amplification range overnight and made them a market leader for little/no extra work or outlay. Did it not occur to them that they were buying 30 years of continual R&D and fine-tuning? Jeez. Fender make the Keystone Kops look organised.
 10. ...and uglier than a bulldog licking pee off a nettle.
 11. Even 14lbs would be pretty extreme.
 12. Myung is an EBMM endorser now, isn't he? Seems to be playing a Bongo 6-string exclusively these days.
 13. Tragedy? Bloody criminal more like. Just like they did with SWR. Both moves ensured that I will never buy a single new Fender product again.
 14.
Just how good are these amps?
Very, very good indeed. I love my Shuttle 6.0. As always with these things, YMMV.
What I'm looking for is reviews from GB owners who can tell me why they love their head/cab so much
Has all the power I need. Clarity. Uncoloured sound. Absurdly light weight.
what, in their opinion, sets Genz Benz apart from other amps they've owned/played.
In my case, the weight. Plus the sound is perfect for my needs -- I love the lack of colour and the fact that it just sounds like my bass only louder. The best compliment I think I can pay it is that I sold an SWR SM-900 to buy the Benz -- the SWR is an awesome amp and the sound was stunning, but I don't miss it at all.
Also, what DON'T they do well, if anything?
Dub reggae, possibly..? I guess it is slightly lacking in heavy bottom end, but this isn't a problem for me at all.
Tell me the pros and cons.
TBH, I can't think of a single con apart from the daft over-brightness of the blue filter LEDs. It will take a truly extraordinary amp to make me want to part with mine. In fact the only thing I can think of that I might want instead is another Shuttle, maybe a 9.2 or a Shuttlemax.
 15. Slaves were interesting for one song but i can imagine it might get a bit dull after a while. Bonio's voice was sounding bloody good, i have to concur.
 16. Some of this stuff is comedy gold. I'm crying here
 17. 10 out of 10 for honesty and humour, but minus several million for pricing policy. No way will he fetch 200 quid for that thing.
 18. Build diary, yes please. I'll be interested to follow this one.
 19. They need to find out exactly what Wilko is made of and use it for making tanks and battleships, because it's obviously indestructible.
I would also like to build a hpf like the Thumpinator but I can't find a layout.
I have a circuit and vero layout somewhere for a variable 20-200Hz HPF. I'll have a root around and see if I can find it.
 21. Depends on how dodgy the electrics are. If the original PCB etc has all been stripped out and binned, then yes it's far from a bargain. I'd imagine it would be possible to establish what colour it was originally? I know Pete & Wal kept details of the early basses.
 22.
What a piece of sh*t. Seriously. The .317 or whatever it isstring iisn't even over the fretboard!
Neither is the top .008 string. I also love the way that two of the bottom four strings are actually touching each other from the third fret down to the nut. Not that it'll make much difference to the inaudible mush. Am I right in thinking that that bottom F would be something like 5½ hertz??
Burn it.
I wouldn't insult my fireplace with it.
 23.
and £1,000? come on!
It'd still be overpriced if it was 1,000 pence.
 24. I know Wals go for a fair few quid but I can't help thinking that, even allowing for the sleb factor, this one is a little, errm, enthusiastically priced. OK so it's a real oldie but even so, the last couple of Pro 2Es I've seen on the bay have gone for between 1500 and 1800.
