1. Cracking idea! Here's ours: https://www.facebook.com/TheTerminalFiveExperience Looking for weekend gigs in the Nottingham / East Midlands area - happy to support other bands :-)
2. Feeling Christmassy... And a lovely Warwick in there somewhere https://www.youtube....h?v=3x_qMcIRbdU
3. This probably says more about my lack of technique and ability than anything, but I'd struggle to go back to a 4 string now.
4. I almost bought that Thumb, as the seller had it on Gumtree way too cheap. Seller realised and withdrew it from sale :-( I assume he saw the error of his ways and upped the price. Glad you still got a bargain though :-) Not bitter - I ended up with a Lolphin SN5 TCS instead :-) :-) Are you going to swap that bone nut for a brass one?
5. In the beer tent at a fireworks display last night. Late starting - we ready bang on time but apparently we were not allowed to start until the bonfire was lit -which was half an hour late for no known reason. Set curtailed due to main fireworks having to finish before the curfew. Frustrating. Audience mainly those queuing for a beer but lots of applause.
6. http://www.bbc.co.uk...nology-29328647 Somehow I doubt Warwick or Fender need worry too much - but the bass does look kinda cool. Note you can hardly hear it on the clip - I wonder why?
7. I use one of these: http://tascam.com/product/mp-bt1/ Discontinue now but there may be 2 hand ones out there. Highly portable -fits in a pocket.
8. First gig in a while for The Terminal Five Experience. Private party at the famous Nottingham Boat Club. Not a huge audience but we won 'em over in the end. Fist gig with my Warwick Streamer $$ and Barefaced Big Baby2 3rd Gen cab - that combination punches through like Carl Froch!
9. Perhaps I've got the best of both worlds: Rotosound Trubass tape wounds on my Letts fretless - nice growly fretless sound with no finger noise, also on My Lakland 5501 for that vintage thump, but EMP round wounds on my Warwick Streamer $$ for a punchy sound that cuts through the live mix.
10. The Warwick web site contains links to videos on how to change the nut yourself. I changed a Tedur JAN3 for a brass on, in about ten minutes!
11. Well I did it! Thank you Dubs for the inspiration to have a go. Barefaced Big Baby 2 (3rd Gen). The 3m self adhesive tape on the back of the LED strip doesn't seem to have the strongest of glues so I have tidied up the top right corner since I took the picture. Total cost less than a tenner.
12. I used to have one of these as my second ever bass. It was a HUGE step up in build quality and tone from the Stagg I started to learn on. Well worth trying out if you can - those earlier necks were quite chunky.
13. Me! Only kidding - Never going to happen lol! (Hey -I can dream can't I)
14. Bought from Bassection of this parish. 2008 Sreamer $$ Swamp Ash in Honey Violin oil finish, maple neck with Aguilar OBP-3 pre amp. I've upgraded the JANIII to brass, cleaned the frets, and fitted Warwick EMP strings.
15. Love it! We're a "weekend Warriors" type covers band - no one knew each other when we formed, but 5 and a bit years down the line we're mates and have a great laugh. There is a magic when something you've not played before just gels out of thin air Practice once a week if we can, sometimes all six of us are there, some times as few as three, always make it fun.
16. aDbx one on the main PA, and the Behringer on the monitors (1 channel on front monitors, and one on the back monitor used by the drumist. Does help, but ringing out is painful.
17. Just bought a Warwick Streamer $$ 5 string. Brett had owned it for about two years, and although gigged, he has clearly looked after it really well. Immaculate condition, exactly as in the photos. Let me test it thoroughly. Really nice guy too. Thanks!
18. Thank you so much - what an awesome bass! Safely collected and back home.
19. Have 2 pairs of SRM450s permanently installed in the halls of the school I work at. Bomb proof and great sound for the money.
20. Lovely looking bass! If only it had one more string!
21. From the earlier pics, the LED strip has a self adhesive backing, and is stuck to the inside edge of the grill. OK I'm sold on the idea. Got a new cab coming in a few weeks time and am going to have go - the LED strips are so cheap for a waterproof 5m roll !
22. Occasionally use couple of the Studiospares 57-alikes on guitar amps at gigs - sound fine to my jaded ears. Did once get sold a fake SM58 from eBay, seller pleaded ignorance but fully refunded me. Narrow escape.
23. I'm quite new to Basschat, so I hadn't seen this thread before. I bought a Letts 5 string fretless nearly two years ago, and as anyone who tried it out recently at the Midland Bass Bash can vouch, its simply lovely. When commissioning and buying this bass I found Jon to be very helpful, and he shared pictures of the build on Facebook. I sympathise equally with those awaiting their build, and with Jon and his family in their circumstances. I have no reason to doubt his honesty, however naïve his recent customer care practises might appear. As the cliché goes, what doesn't kill you makes you strong. I too look forward to reading the reviews once the backlog basses start to appear.
