  1. I recently bought this excellent GK Legacy 800 watt combo to fulfill a specific gigging requirement which hasn’t materialised. It has been used a couple of times for practice only. Make no mistake this is a full on pro quality gigging combo which is load enough to shake the foundations of my house if I turn it up past half way which I haven’t tried to do yet. It has a full feature set included and a very useable drive section which can be controlled by the supplied footswitch. I believe the model I bought was discontinued new old stock and the new versions have a metal grill instead of a nylon front cover. Nevertheless the rrp on my amp was well over £1000. I sported a version online with a 12inch speaker which is listed at £900 plus, so hopefully this will be a bargain for someone. Please see full specs below. The Legacy 800 amplifier on its own sells in the UK for £850 so this should be a real bargain for someone. Buy it, connect a second GK cab and play whatever venue you want to. 😀 My preference is to trade this for a combo of similar quality that’s a little more portable and still useable for small gigs. Please see specs below. Please note that this combo was made in the US and is built like a tank, it is in MINT CONDITION. Any questions please ask away. Come and try it if you’re local. Four Band Active EQ Universal Power for 110 volts and 220 volts Foot Switchable Overdrive with Tone Control (Footswitch Included) "Bump", "Contour", and "Presence" Voicing Filters Balanced XLR Output with Pre and Post EQ Unique Interconnection System: Eliminates problems that develop from constant use Unbalanced ¼” Send and Return Aux Input and Headphones Output Circuit Boards with Gold Plated Connectors Unique Interconnection System: “Eliminates Problems that Develop from Constant Use” Neodymium Speakers Designed and Produced at GK’s California Factory Each Combo Equipped with the Latest 800 Watt Switch Mode Power Amp 24.60” x 19.12” x 14.70” 39.2 lbs.
  2. I forgot to add that I bought a German made Sadowsky a couple of months ago as an early 60th birthday treat from a well known retail chain. It had the MM/J configuration and a rare Snakewood top. The price was close to £3500. When the bass arrived I noticed during the unpacking process a disclaimer that the top was prone to cracking. There was no mention of this on the retailer’s website. When I checked the bass itself I noticed a couple of cracks which were pretty unsightly. The bass was duly returned and my money refunded. Despite this I wouldn’t be put off considering another Sadowsky Metro but at the price point there are a number of other options I would also consider instead. That being said it would take something special to beat my Japanese 2018 MetroExpress which is stunning. Thanks to Will at BassBros for looking after me!
  3. Mike recently bought my Fender Rumble combo. The transaction went exactly as we’d agreed via our PM’s which was great as I was out of the country working at the time of collection. Fabulous buyer, highly recommended. Thanks Mike!
  4. I have just picked up a tobacco burst mint condition Japanese Metro Express and it’s absolutely awesome. I have played and owned a number of Jazz basses including Fender, Sandberg, Xotic to name just a few and this is hands down the best playing and sounding Jazz bass I have played.
  5. I would like to sell my Fender Rumble 100 combo which looks as new. It’s around a year old and has never been out of my practice room. Most of you will know of the excellent reputation these amps have and it’s well deserved. This is an ideal amp for practice, rehearsal and small gigs and in this condition will not be commonplace. I can’t see a scratch or blemish anywhere on the unit. Comes with instruction booklet, a fitted padded cover and a power lead. I haven’t got a box to post but any prospective buyer is welcome to collect, tea and coffee will be provided. Alternatively as I travel with work I can meet up within a reasonable distance of Wigan. I am not looking at trades thanks just a straight sale please. Sensible offers considered.
  6. GLWTS, I reckon North of £5k is more accurate since the new crop of Evolution 4’s Bass Direct have received seem to all be in the £4 - 4.5 k range. When you think about it these are just as good as anything out there and are definitely more hand made than their most direct competition and sit at a significantly lower price point than that brand.
  7. It was a natural Ash 4 string Combustion.
  8. I traded a Dingwall bass into Will who was excellent to deal with, knowledgeable and fair with his price. I wouldn’t hesitate to do business with him again.
  9. I have reluctantly decided to re list my fantastic Elrick Evo Gold 4 string bass after an initial change of heart. It is by a country mile the best bass I have owned, but it is far too much for what I need. I play mainly at home and have come to the realization that I don’t need one of the world’s best bass guitars to do what I do. Bought only a couple of months ago it’s impossible to distinguish this guitar from a new version, it is literally in pristine condition. The action is set medium low and it plays and sounds like a dream been through my Fender Rumble. Please see some info on the spec below which has several significant upgrades. Ideally I prefer a straight sale but I will accept a partial trade for a bass of lesser value plus cash. The bass comes with an Elrick TKL case and tools. Please note that the a similar version of this bass with a lower spec is currently available at a well known UK retailer for well over 4k. The bass weighs in at a startling 3.2 kg or just over 7lbs in old money. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Partial trade wise I am looking for something lightweight in a Jazz style or similar with at least £1000 coming my way please. I’m not really interested in a straight trade for another instrument as I would like a more utilitarian bass. This is more suited to a gigging pro bass player which I’m not. Also if you have a really nice light ish Fender Jazz or super jazz then please let me know. Cheers. Lightweight swamp ash body •Exotic Ebony “10” top – £500 option •Maple neck •2-way adjustable truss rod •Width at nut: 42mm •Bird’s eye fingerboard, radius: 16″ – £300 upcharge •24 frets + zero fret •Medium Fretwire •Glow in dark luminlay side dots – £75 upcharge •34″ scale •19mm string spacing at bridge •Bartolini CB Pickups – £200 upgrade •Bartolini NTMBF 3 band eq, 9v •Switching for active/passive and three way mid frequency switch: 250/500/800Hz •Black Hipshot Ultralight tuners and B style bridge •Dunlop Straploks • Strung with D’Addario 40-100 round wound strings. •TKL Hard case
  10. Sorry it didn’t upload for some reason. I have just added one 👍

  12. A man after my own heart. Monkey House are one of the best bands I have heard in many a long year. Great players making fabulous music. ❤️
  13. Brand new Dingwall nickel bass strings for sale, new in the pack. I believe they’re £24 in the shop, will take £15 ish posted, or £12 collected. Cheers, Mark.
  14. Thank you for your post, it’s a lovely bass, but sadly I have a glass back and shoulder issues, caused by years of rugby and cricket. A lighter bass is going to be required to be able to enjoy my playing in the future.
  15. This is a very reluctant sale for me considering my appreciation of Jazz basses, I believe this is one of the very best I have played. However with my advancing years I find myself needing a little less weight in my basses, not that this is particularly heavy at 9 lbs 5 oz but I am definitely looking for something in the sub 8 lb range if possible. I know many of you will be aware of Xotic bass as they have many fans and endorsers such as Travis Carlton, John Peña, Rufus Philpot,Tetsuo Sakurai and Carmine Rojas to name just a few., This bass is a 2015 model and whilst it has some player wear it has definitely not been abused. The set up allows the bass to play and sound fantastic. I only tend to play it through a Fender practice combo so I am sure through a good rig it will sound epic. As I mentioned I am looking for a lighter bass so the only trades I will consider will have to be for lightweight instruments. There could be a little wriggle room on the price but I am already losing money based on what I paid when I picked this bass up a few weeks ago. This will be a heaven sent instrument for someone wanting a top pro bass for sensible money. It has the hum reduction circuit built in so no single coil hum which would make it an excellent recording tool. I would put this up against most other Jazz basses (Sadowsky, Fender, Bacchus, Overwater etc) and I am sure it will come out quite favourably. Comes with a very sturdy gig bag, certificate, spec card, tags and stickers. If you want to arrange a courier to collect you are more than welcome, I may have a suitable box that can be used. Failing that collection or delivery during a meet up may be possible as I travel up and down the country with my work. FOR SALE ONLY PLEASE AS I HAVE A NEW BASS ON ORDER AND HAVE A 1 IN 1 OUT POLICY. If you have any questions please do let me know.
  16. I sold my Nemphasis pedal to Lorenzo and I can report that the transaction was smooth. Payment was prompt and communication first class. Highly recommended.

Thanks Lorenzo, I appreciate the purchase. All the best.
  18. Hello All. I bought this combo for a project that hasn’t been forthcoming and as I don’t really play live it is total overkill for me. I can’t say enough good things about the tone on tap here, it’s very pure and the combo is extremely powerful as all its 350 watts are delivered into the cabinet. Please note that this particular unit is not designed to be used in combination with another cab, it’s shockingly loud and was designed for stand alone use. The 500/800 watt versions can be used as a stack. I have only used this sparingly at home and the unit is absolutely mint. I believe I haven’t ever turned the volume up to 1, and the gain stays around 11 o’clock ish. This would definitely suit someone who wants a powerful featherweight combo (less than 20lbs) with a really transparent sound. I only ever play it flat and it does the job for me. Ideally I am looking for a sale but I would definitely consider a trade for something of lower value as I only need a practice combo. The GR is totally wasted on me and if I keep it it will never do what it’s designed to do, which is fill rooms with bass loveliness. Unfortunately I cannot ship this as I no longer have the box, but anyone local to me in the North West of England is welcome to come and try the amp. I believe this model is £950 at Bass Direct. I can take more photos if required, it does come with a nice padded cover. Hit me up with any trades amp wise please. Cheers.
  19. I have wrestled with this and withdrawn the bass once already, but I have accepted that I need to move my virtually new Dingwall Combustion 3 pick up 4 string on to a new home. I would much prefer a trade for a nice lightish Jazz style bass. I am based in Wigan and will travel half way to meet for the right instrument. I am happy to put some money in or take a bass plus cash for a cheaper instrument as long as it’s a jazz style instrument in great condition with a decent quality case or bag, with no issues, and a nice set up. My Dingwall is as new. I know you have probably seen this before but I can assure you that it would be difficult for even the most discerning eye to be able to tell the difference between my bass and one off the rack in a shop. It still has the plastic on the control plate and battery compartment. I am also happy to sell and allow any prospective buyer to view the bass first. Please feel free to ask any questions. PLEASE NOTE MY BASS DOES NOT HAVE A QUILTED MAPLE TOP.
