@Schlippy bought my Fender Jazz earlier today. Magnus is an absolute gentleman and a credit to Basschat. Communication was first class and the transaction that took place went as well as it possibly could have. Highly recommended person to deal with! Thanks Magnus!

Sorry whilst I have been here a while I don’t post or read many posts. Thanks for your kind comment.

Yes I believe you are correct, 2 pairs of 2 with a switching button for each coil and a stellar tone 10 way tone pot.
-
Not sure if that’s a genuine question but I will answer it as though it is, yes the multitude of available tones from the four coils and stellar tone 10 way switch means you can play it in pretty much any musical genre. … and yes it has a metal pick guard.😬

A quick shout out to the guys at Alpher Instruments for their superb craftsmanship, willingness to explore new ideas and their first class service. Al and Chris delivered my new Hammerhead bass last Friday and what a monumental day it was. Tone wise this bass is absolutely mind boggling, the build quality is pretty special too. I have always been quite traditional in my taste especially when it comes to body shapes but I must say the more radical nature of the Hammerhead shape is definitely growing on me, have I mentioned the tones on tap? Blooming awesome!!!

Having just received delivery of a brand new bass from the brilliant guys at Alpher Instruments, my recently acquired immaculate Fender Jazz bass is now surplus to requirements. It’s in fabulous condition and comes fitted with a hi mass bridge, the original bridge is also included as is a Fender bridge cover, Fender gig bag add a spare tort pick guard. I have replaced the old strings with a brand new set of SIT Foundations 45-105, (these are excellent quality low tension Nickel strings). The bass is set up with a medium action and plays and sounds just as you imagine a Jazz bass should. I am not able to post this bass as I have no suitable box, collection would therefore be preferred from Wigan, a local ish meet up can also be arranged. I believe the price is very fair so I would like to say that it’s firm at £450 as that is what I paid. Please let me know if you have any questions at all. Cheers.

I met Steve earlier today and bought his Fender Jazz bass. It was absolutely as described, in immaculate condition and well set up. Steve is a great guy and was an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Do business with full confidence.

Great basses these, and this particular bass belongs to a great bass player who also happens to be a mate of mine. I believe it may have been used on this track from Wayne’s 2023 EP B.ASS. I have recently seen and handled this bass and it’s immaculate and very light for all those like me who suffer with a bad back or shoulder ailments.

I have just sold my Cort GB Modern 5 to Steve. He has been great to deal with throughout the whole process.

Hello All, I am looking to move on my recently acquired Cort Modern 5 bass. It has a remarkable spec for the price and is superlight. Over the years I’ve had a few 5 string basses which I haven’t gelled with. I love the sound but playing them is not an enjoyable experience for me at least. I can’t imagine there is any bass out there which has this sort of spec and price weighing 8lbs. Needless to stay the sounds on tap are top drawer as you would expect considering the pickups and pre amp are made by world class companies, Nordstrand and Mark Bass respectively. Photos and details of the full spec are attached. For complete transparency there is a small mark by one of the pre amp toddles, it looks like it might be a tiny finish crack. This does not affect the operation of the instrument in any way and won’t be noticed by anyone except the eagle eyed. In all other respects the bass is as new and comes with a Cort hard case which must be worth a few quid on its own. I have just had the bass set up and new SIT strings have been fitted. I am happy to sell or trade for a nice 4 string PJ or J instrument with a similar retail price (around £1000). I have put this up at the price I bought it for a month ago which was a bit of a bargain. I will obviously sell but I am not looking to discount much from this price. Collection preferred from WN4 near Haydock racecourse, or a meeting can be arranged. Courier could also be arranged at the cost and risk of the buyer but I am not sure I have a suitable box TBH.
