  1. Time for an update! Since the last iteration I've lost the Looper (nah.... useful at home but not on stage); gone full digital with the effects; added a 3 way switch to the Morningstar; bought a Peterson because xmas work bonus 🙂 Tuner > C4 > Aftershock > Flashback > Mercury > HPF > Comp (always on 4:1). Morningstar MC6 MkII > MIDI 5 pin out > Neuro hub. Source Audio pedals connect to Hub using the usual SA TRRS cables (which are waaay too long for my board). Strobostomp HD: wanted to lose the buffer on the Boss (because the average pub really notices the difference!) and be able to store a bunch of different tunings. So this lets my cycle through them using the +/- buttons, and each has a different colour. It's far more tuner than 99% of users inc. me could possibly need. I use the DC out to power a Looper at home when I want to set up sounds. C4: Still love it. It's everything I need from a synth, filters and octaves are great. We know all this by now 🙂 Aftershock: A revelation! The tube drive is EXACTLY what I was looking for, and you can cop (at least) 90% of any dirt or fuzz sound you can think of. Despite the C4 being able to cop a nice muff, this is a worthy addition. Flashback: Using this for some slapback e.g. Folsom Prison Blues style thumpers; some longer delays for the odd pretty moment! Would love to go MIDI but cost outweighs benefit given my minimal usage. Mercury: Love this. Chorus, Phase, Flange, Vibe. Cut the lows or keep the lows. Great EQ section. The 12 Stage Phaser is awesome - add that to a juicy synth for "look at me!!" intros. HPF: No-one should be without one, really. Happier speaker cones ahoy! Keeley: 😍 If I could only keep one pedal (I'd cry like a baby) it would be this one. It just compresses your bass according to how you set it.... and that's it. No noise, drama, signal loss, distortion - just compression. It's always on, and I go at it quite hard on a shade over 4:1 ratio. Helps when the C4 starts chucking out mountains of bass too. Morningstar MC6 MkII + Hub: if your MIDI device supports it, and you can think it, this can most likely do it. Bank 1 (Home) is Core sounds: Page 1 filter, drive, octave, phase; Page 2 synths. Then many Song banks. Then generic banks for drives, octaves, filters, chorus etc, synths. And a browse / toggle bank for when I'm setting up sounds, auditioning new presets etc. I still address the C4 with CC commands, but now have a range of PC assigned on the Hub to: Mercury; Aftershock; Mercury + Aftershock. So on the MC I click new preset, add in the "engage preset" commands I want from my CC and PC User Library and there you go - any combo of sounds you like. The 3 way switch changes banks, toggles pages within a bank and lets me tap midi clock tempo in. Top-right preset on both pages of every bank does: (Double-tap) Jump to next batch of banks; (Long Press) Jump to Bank 1 (go Home). Still need to properly add in my expression pedal i.e. target mapped MIDI parameters per pedal with dedicated Expression Presets per MC Bank. This eats the guitarist friendly MIDI controller competition as a mere snack. Putting the hours in means you can completely create the sound switching environment that you want, on your terms. It's stupidly powerful. And bought one of those nice Brother P-Touch label printer thingies obvs.
  2. @Kevan - lovely. They’re fine wines I think…. For sure an 80s Wal is one of the great classics.
  3. That GB is SICK. I want one!!!
  4. This is sooo tempting. The weight, the zero fret, the piezo and the preamp. But (because I’m a tool) it breaks my “jack sockets should be on the side” and “even though I try and play floating thumb, I need a neck pickup to anchor on at times” rules. But I’m going to give this one some thought, because it’s lovely!!
  5. I’ll update mine. Previous entry was the 2006 BTB Prestige on the right. My first breath-takingly brilliant bass so never getting sold. The Ibby SR fretless because - it’s sooo cool and so light and the piezo sounds ace. I must *actually* play it, though. I don’t really ‘do’ fretless, but if I sold it I’d end up buying another one, so it stays. My darling is Betsy, my 2014 Fender Dimension USA Deluxe V. I can’t put it down… it plays effortlessly, it can do any sound you can think of, and with the recently added tort plate it’s the best looking bass I’ve ever had. Fender should have sold 10,000s of these. I want another one in Root Beer with a rosewood board which I’d string with flats. Bit obsessed!!
  6. 8lbs 7oz… wow!! I’m just not a stingray guy, which is a shame seeing as I’ve got one!! 🧐
  7. MC6 for the win. SUCH a capable piece of kit, especially with an expression hanging off it. Love mine. If you’re conceivably going to add more source audio pedals in future then my advice would be bite the bullet and get a Neuro Hub. I started with C4 and added Aftershock and Mercury and now I can make scenes with any of those and/or continue to address the C4 using CC commands. Caveat: if you add EQ2 or Ultrawave then the Hub can’t store every parameter via Hub scenes, so the Hub would only really be giving you host for those two and you’d recall presets using CC. Though, EQ2 has a MIDI in DIN so Hub not really required at all for that one.
  8. Nice board @prowla. As/when you get an MC6 don’t forget it needs a USB host box between the MC and the C4. Source audio neuro hub is one such box…. But happily your dmc will also do the job. Whether it can do that AND other things at the same time is unknown to me though 🙂
  9. That’s a steal! You cannot go wrong with a GK Neo cab. GLWTS!
  10. THAT’S a jazz bass. absolutely beautiful
  11. Yeah that’s a nice deal right there. SRs are proper lovely to play. Good looking piece of wood there!
  12. Very tasty! You already know the answer to your question… buy a bigger board!!
  13. 100%. We’re running 1.8 on the G to 2 on the B and it’s lovely. Have been forcing myself to a floating thumb mute rather than anchoring the thumb on the pickup which means I’m plucking softer. And if I dig in it does that delicious “raspy” thing. Especially in single coil mode. I’ve never had a bass play as well as this one! If you’re near a Peterborough Jon Haire is the optimal choice for bass setup fun!
  14. Betsy (the Fender Dimension) is just back from the excellent Jon Haire in Peterborough. Been two years since last service, needed some fret levelling. I can do the basics but JH is the MAN. All perfectly fettled now with D’addario Nickel 50-135. I love a good setup and I love fresh strings 😍
  15. Exactly that, completely agree. I had an EHX Big Muff Deluxe Pi and Bass Soul Food, and this has replaced them… honestly for me the Tube breakup sounds are worth it on their own - actually DO sound like a Tube amp getting nicely stuck in! I’d highly recommend going the whole hog here and adding a C4 and a Hub…. It’s NUTS what SA pedals and MIDI and expression can do!
  16. Top marks awarded here for Source Audio Aftershock. That’s my favourite purchase recently, I can’t believe how good drive, fuzz and everything in between sounds with this thing!
  17. Trace head and barefaced / green boy / fearless etc cab. Light, tough and loud but handle quiet well too. I used to have an SVT 3 PRO and trace 4x10 Now GK 700RBMkII into barefaced BB2. That’ll bark like battersea dogs home at feeding time.
  18. Is that Keeley hand signed / prototype? They’re such amazing pedals. I LOVE mine. It just squashes according to how you set the knobs but otherwise stays out of the way of the signal path. Mine will have to be prised from cold dead hands.
  19. And another pedal from @patrikmarky - and another great transaction, thanks!
  20. A new 18v 2000mA centre negative power supply with (I guess the standard Boss size) 2.1mm dc jack doesn’t look to be an easy thing to find, according to a quick scan of eBay… otherwise I’d suggest buying a new PSU that’s UK specific. Hey: they’re all made in China anyway including the stock adaptors! This https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/18V-2000mA-AC-DC-Adaptor-Power-Supply-Charger-5-5mm-x-2-1mm-For-DC18V-0-5A-0-8A-/174766222090?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 *might* do the trick but the listing doesn’t state polarity.
  21. Lol. Like buses… having just nabbed one of these, can highly recommend it. Only tried the three toggle presets so far but they all sound sweet. ‘Tube’ is worth the money on it’s own!
  22. Whoever it was that originally posted the link to those adhesive clips on eBay needs a knighthood. Some excellent under board cable mounting action all round ever since. Applause!
  23. Bought a pedal from @patrikmarky - very fast delivery, excellent packaging, as described. Recommended, thanks!
  24. Well, that’s perfect. What a stunning bass!
