  2. Question: is it possible to toggle a preset on or off from the neuro app? I can’t see how if so. I’m sat at my desk, laptop on table, bass on lap, setting output volumes across many presets. Would be nice to toggle engaged/bypassed without moving to pedal board or switching to MC6 MIDI app and sending a preset to do it....
  3. At that price gotta be worth a punt.... as long as the cable’s not total garbage (and any HB stuff I’ve had has been decent enough quality) it’s only gotta pass a small signal a small distance. Once they’re in, they don’t move or get replugged of course.
  4. Wow! What a thing, just been reading up on it. Great ad.... GLWTS!
  5. Ditched Schallers: had the original versions... squeaks, lost washers, no good for thicker straps. Dunlops ftw these days.
  6. Lava Tightrope. Both green and red kits bought used years ago, happily with enough spare cable to do the long C4 > Soul Food run. S’good stuff - they do even skinnier plugs and cable nowadays, plus a DC cable kit too... but that’s a bridge too far I think!
  7. And here’s mine. EHX Deluxe Muff, EBS Octabass and MXR Filter replaced by C4, Morningstar and Hub. Tuner > C4 > Soul Food > Chorus > Comp (always on). Screwed hardboard underneath and velcro’d/tied the Hub (I don’t need access to the buttons). Inspired by the standard of recent posters I used adhesive cable clips, a few quid from eBay, otherwise I had all the bits required. All USBs are accessible. The TRRS cable for the C4 is coiled beneath the tuner. It’s waaaay too long but it’s out of sight. Really, need a max. 10cm MIDI cable but my soldering skills aren’t good enough and that’s gonna be like a £20+ custom order, so “one my mate had going spare” will do! Enough board estate to add stuff, assuming addition of GigRig Isolator for more outlets. Planning to add short IEC extension cable somehow “bolted” to the metal frame to the right of the PSU so I’m not plugging / unplugging into the PSU and straining it. Pleased with this one!
  8. And yeah it’s all about the planning, agreed. 80% plan/think 20% do. I’m nearly finished my “ditch the muff, filter and octabass in favour of a C4 and MIDI” rebuild. Pics tomorrow 😀
  9. Great layout skills there... I’ve got the same board and PSU. Have just read up on the GigRig Isolator coz I wondered how you powered “more than 7 things”.... what a neat solution! I guess it comes off one of the 9v 500mA on the CS7? I’m maxed on my PSU (I’ve got the 18v>9v adaptor going on) but plenty of board space left... an isolator would sling underneath if I need more outlets. Interesting!
  10. Another vote for the D’Addarios. Lifelong steel user, put a set on my Dimension and I’m never going back. They suit pick, fingers and slap really well IMO. And a reasonable price and everyone stocks them I want to love Elixirs but due to my massively incompetent pick technique I seemed to shred the coating off them!
  11. Too heavy for me these days but this exact model was top 3 on my teens / early 20s wish list. Beautiful. GLTWS
  12. For sure: after the apocalypse, only cockroaches and SM58s will survive 😀
  13. I’m not into vintage Fender jazz basses. But this makes me all tingly!! What a stunner 😍
  14. Sennheiser E935 for the win here. I had an SM58 crap out, and replaced it with the above. Man alive: like Bob Clearmountain’s mixing your live sound. Everyone uses SM58 coz that’s what yer use. But a few £££ more makes a massive difference IMHO
  15. Thx for the link, I’ve ordered small and medium too! All I need now is a tiny short MIDI cable and the rebuild can begin. Again.
  16. Well, that wins neatest board of 2020 by a mile - sterling work!
  17. If you’ve got .pre files locally, use Import. If you want to move an existing preset to another position Save As At least, that’s what I do!
  18. iOS app works fine with a lightning to audio dongle thingy. I suspect with these things original Apple version worth a few extra quid to avoid issues!
  19. For anyone reading and pondering MIDI controllers.... it’s Morningstar ftw so far. So glad I listened to the guru and kept my MC6 🙂 Mapped some filter MIDI functions in C4. Worked out roughly what CC values correspond to the on screen knob values in the desktop app. Set up a bank on MC6 with: Button A - Press 1: Filter preset engaged / Press 2: Bypass pedal Button B - Press: sweep frequency up / Release: return frequency to starting position. Button C - Press: Invert filter / Release: un-invert filter. So I can call up a filter sound, and then hold Button B and C to cause auditory carnage on the fly! Mental. So many things yer can make this do and I really am a numpty.
  20. Aha! Thanks. That explains why not all numbers would map to control 1 then. I couldn’t see a pattern when I too started an Excel log of them all. It looks like only certain functions can go on #1 and same for #2 then? Had assumed anything could go anywhere....? EDIT: dur. Of course, only things that make sense on a knob can be mapped to a knob I guess. I’ll have a crack at mapping knob 2 in such case...
  21. More playing around with the MC6. I’ve mapped Ctrl1 and Ctrl2 knob assign, and managed to get various functions on to those knobs eg Bass, Drive amount etc Is there a smarter way to determine the CC value for each of the functions? Atm I’m cycling through them and eyeballing what the knob shows in the desktop editor.... but trying to find Treble is slooow! 🙂
  22. Now THAT’S a good idea. The level of options here is almost ridiculous!!
  23. @Quatschmacher - successfully setup bank on MC6 to step thru C4 presets. Thanks for the pointers! You were right: MC6 it is.... can’t see there’s many things I’d need to do that this setup won’t give me. Loving this after a slow start!
  24. Ah..... the manual tells me how to open the midi map editor in the app which I’m guessing lists all of the CCs. Will try tomorrow...
