  1. Right. We’re going with brown tort - @Reggaebass takes the points for this round. Genuine thanks for all the input folks… I love the fact that other people in this world care about the small (but important!) stuff. If anyone with experience of WD ‘guards knows what “clear removable masked top” means then please enlighten me! I guess “protective, removable covering to protect it in transit”?! I’ll mail them. Now to check thickness and bevel angle… who knew?! wdmusic “Made from four layer faux brown tortoise PVC material consisting of faux brown tortoise shell/cream/black/cream with a clear removable masked top. Thickness .110 in./2.79mm.”
  2. As a confirmed Dimension addict of a few year’s standing a sticker would be useful for me. Still can’t remember which position is inner or outer single coils. Its important to know: my (non-existent at present) audience can really hear the difference when the band’s playing 😂
  3. I guess so yeah. You never know though: gotta be worth an email to fender to ask?
  4. Lovely to see so many dimensions on here! I’m a massive fan… I just can’t stop touching it! 😲 So far I think my order of pref is now: 1. brown tort 2. black 3. Red tort 4. Black pearl Hmm. Need to make me a gallery. Wish I had photoshop and the ability to use it!
  5. True enough. Get the impression WD’s are more red than brown.
  6. Oh VERY nice. I’m leaning towards plain black now!
  7. Thanks folks!! White Pearl is a good shout too. Black’s what most folks change these to judging by results of web search. Hmm WD do a nice black abalone too.
  8. I’m being THAT guy. I love this bass more than oxygen but the white scratchplate isn’t sexy enough. So a Tort guard from WD would be sexier, right?? Am I right?
  9. Page 5 (Elite / Deluxe) basically the same. Fender American Elite Dimension Bass IV HH 019290XXXX Service Manual REV A 1-15-16.pdf
  10. Red Velcro!! Very nice, hadn’t thought of that. Gonna go with “not black” next time mine needs a refresh, LIKE this!!
  11. Aye. There’s much about the editor that could be improved. The save as dialogue needs to be bigger by default; once you’ve typed something into search being able to press enter to execute rather than having to click a button etc. But it’s not SA’s core field of expertise so I guess it is what it is. Luckily, programming the sounds themselves is pretty easy. One hint - when you’re tweaking sounds, get a cheapie looper to sit in front of the C4 so you keep your hands on the mouse! The lekato that’s like £30 on eBay works for me for this!
  12. That’s the method unfortunately
  13. I stand corrected, my bad!
  14. I like the angst! 😝
  15. I don’t know how much control the DMC gives you over this but…. On the C4, sending it CC 104 and a value recalls that preset number Engaged. CC 103 and a value recalls that preset number Bypassed. I *guess* that ‘behind the scenes’ the DMC is actually sending these values hence why (with you holding down left button) it’s able to send “engaged” or “bypassed” CC - and it must be sending CC coz you can’t change presets on a C4 using Program Change MIDI messages
  16. From the C4 manual (with apols for formatting!), think it’s this setting? USB MIDI Skip Power Check: The C4 can receive MIDI PC messages via the pedal’s USB port. It requires MIDI DAW software or a MIDI host device with USB. The C4 should respond to most devices, but some don’t generate enough power for the C4 to recognize them as a MIDI host (the MIDI Baby and qCONNECT from Disaster Area Designs are two examples). If your C4 is not responding to your MIDI host device, try checking this box.
  17. Bump for last few bits.... happy to take an offer for what's left
  18. Anyone fancy a great octave and/or muff bump?
  19. Gallien Krueger RB-700II - come up s/h for good money, not too heavy…. Really flexible controls and GREAT sound. Like being fed by 18v preamps and big humbuckers 😀
  20. Yeah. All Devices on different MIDI channels.
  21. The older Premiums were beautiful. Some great choices of woods. Really suit the gold hardware and I’m not usually a fan. And those Nordies ❤️❤️❤️ They sound even better than they look! Had a 1205 that went when I got a ‘Ray…. Am now considering flipping the ‘Ray for another SR, there’s some tasty ones for sale on here atm….
  22. I have absolutely no need whatsoever for one, but I just want to poke at it. Have had to ban myself from YouTube.
  23. It does stick in the throat a bit for sure. But it gets offset by the silly number of sounds that you can use. Also, for me, adding MIDI to C4 meant kicking muff, filter and octave off the board and into the sale ads which helped offset some. Plus, if you add further MIDI pedals you’re sorted.
