Who knew normous buttocks could be electric? Welcome!

Don’t have any experience of a setup as you suggest but I use a TRS from my stomp to the desk/stage box and if that doesn’t have a Jack, sticking an adapter on the end hasn’t given me any problems.

Aye, we sharing patches here? If it’s allowed and you’re happy to!

Hola! I appreciate that this thread could still be correct, but it’s also quite old - like the P bass I just inherited (a 78/9 but from someone who doesn’t play, not passed)! I’ve not taken it to bits yet but it’s exhibiting the same ‘symptoms’ - the pickups can be lifted when the screws are raised but they don’t stay up. The bass has been stored in a wardrobe for like 20 years so I’m guessing the foam has perished (if it was fitted with foam?). As this is now (arguably) a vintage bass I’d like to sort it in a sympathetic way so…. …..is there a way to fix this that wasn’t around in 2010 or do I just do what’s suggested above? Any help gratefully received.

63 was obviously a good year!

Made it on to the pages of Bass Player Magazine… https://www.guitarworld.com/news/lost-fender-precision-bass-auction

Ok, I’ll ask the stupid question. What is the grey lead thingy on top of the strings in the case? Not seen such a thing before…

Wasn’t tragic back in the day! Let’s settle on misguided…. 😉

Lol. You look like that DJ - in a good way! basic googling suggests a Roadstar 1. The 2 went to 4 a side…

My my. What long arms you have….

Nice idea but I’m fine with it. A very young Andy Warnock had a look at it like 30 years ago and sorted it switching on and off - there was a time when the active circuit didn’t work. Indeed, I’m sure he fixed it but something in the intervening years could have changed things. I don’t use it enough to be able to work out what needs tweaking. Just gives the old girl character…

It’s great to see Rob in a better place. Strange that #2 is still available. I’d have thought the investors would have spotted that…

Here is my MC 924. I was 21 in the early 80’s and I had a choice between this and a British alternative as a pressy. Sometimes I regret not choosing the Wal… As others have said it’s weighty! This one works passive & active but it seems to drain the battery whether the switch is on or off. Gets taken to gigs as the spare but have recorded with it recently. Still sounds great….

Unity 700 head just arrived, as described. Really quick and good communication. Easy transaction. Thanks!

Can’t help I’m afraid. Have you tried raising this in the Line 6 Helix forum?
-
Yes, you could ‘brick’ the device. It’s a pain but just do it when you have the time. If you have a Floor, it rebuilds the presets after the factory reset and when you reinstall the backup so take that into account. I start it going then go and have a cuppa. Definitely DONT do it at a rehearsal or gig!

I have a ‘significant birthday’ this year which has made me start thinking about getting a bass as old as me! Would be a ‘63 Jazz if poss. I guess I could go to No Tom (although they ignored me when I was in there a few weeks ago) or the Bass Gallery as ‘getting one off eBay’ (as if one would come up there!) is probably not a good idea! I’ve scoured the usual places and Reggaebass suggested Andy Baxter but any other thoughts on how I might source one and not get ripped off?
