SMILE! Big cheesy one otherwise you can’t see it from more than 10 ft away. Makes you look like you are enjoying yourself and if you look like you are it helps the punters enjoy themselves too. Doesn’t matter if you don’t feel like it but every ‘concentration face’ (that you (anyone!!) would naturally make) will make you look moody & distant. I’ll echo look just over peoples heads until you feel comfortable to actually make eye contact. People will still think you are looking at them and feel ‘engaged’. And, above all, have fun… You will smash it!

Happy memories for me as I was in my 1st band recording our 1st album that day. As the drummer and I had been well rehearsed (because of studio costs at the time) we were finished quite quickly and so watched most of it in a side alcove off the Control Room.

I’d be interested.

I use a Stomp so completely change my rig by pushing a footswitch. Patch for slap with compression etc. I do find however that at some venues I use different patches as the tone I ‘wanted’ isn’t the one I ‘need’, if that makes sense! But it’s great to be able to switch from eg a GK to an Orange ‘just like that’ though. Alternatively, when practicing with my P I find when I use a pick by rolling the tone off 1/4 I ‘mimmick’ the tone o had with my fingers. Each to their own of course!

I appreciate I’m in That London but I hadn’t heard of this :-(. Could even have popped in to No. 1 daughters but I’m spoken for now. Have a great time & I hope it’s successful. That ‘63 P is awesome!

Watching a bit of Glasto today the singer in Shed 7 is obs falling foul of the ‘needs glasses/bigger set list’ as he was constantly bending over to look at his. Even announced the wrong song and the guitarist had to correct him! it’s horrible being old! 😂

I’ve been round both these blocks. i used to have the ‘one eye reading, one eye distance’ and, as only an occasional wearer, it felt like you were walking round in circles for 5 mins but the brain quickly compensates. I struggled with early ‘versions’ of multi focal lenses so went back to one short one long for a while. Recently they bought out lenses for astigmatism so I now have one for that and a multi focal and I can see so well I’m thinking of wearing them more often. Anyhoo, I can’t see without glasses so play in them if I can’t be bothers to put lenses in ( or we’re playing somewhere posh and it’s unlikely there will be a fight 😂). The bass player is the studious intellectual anyway so we look cool in glasses anyway?

You can get varifocal contact lenses now too…
