  1. yep me too, I've never dropped a pick mid song, they sometimes spin round a bit, I hold them with my index and middle finger underneath and thumb on top
  2. may be wrong but MS 60B and the B1on use the same chipset so should sound the same, the way I see it is the B1on , MS60B and B3 are basically the same thing with different cases and ways of adjusting the patches
  3. I've been using a B1on for years, gigging, and had no issues with durability and noise, I actually bought a B3 and quickly moved it on, it sounded exactly the same but was a lot bulkier (couldn't get in my hard Bass case) before that I had a 506 MkII which I retired when the input jack became dodgy. So I'll be interested in the thoughts on the B1 Four
  4. could be the out put transistors, mine would be ok for a bit then the volume would drop, it didn't come back till it had cooled down though
  5. Well we're in the process of looking for a guitarist, join my band seems to be popular, Facebook pages, trouble is they soon drop down the page, bandmix, Gumtree and find a muso is another.
  6. Well established Notts/Derby Old School Punk band Verbal Warning require a new guitarist to take over in October. We do about 50 gigs a year mostly local pubs doing 2 hour sets of mainly covers and some of our own songs taken from the 3 albums we’ve done over the last 14 years. The last two are on Spotify as well as various live songs on youtube We also do some originals only gigs and festivals and won the introducing stage at Butlins alternative festival last October, which means we’ll be playing the main stage this year, our current guitarist’s last gig. Obviously would help if you’re into bands like the Ramones, Clash, Sex Pistols etc
  7. just come across this while looking for suggestions as to where to find a guitarist, yes, the most uninitiative web site I've come across, I persevered and got to the stage where they were supposed to send me a code to place an ad, I'm still waiting
  8. Oh yeah, I used it as a lefty, and the picture has it with different pickup fitted before I found out Dimazio's were stock, wonders why it didn't improve things, doh, it's got the originals back on now
  9. I finally got my Hondo back off our drummer, after reading someone's post that you can tell a Matsumoku from the stamp on the heal of the neck (annoyingly I can't find the post now), anyway mine's got nothing on the heal of the neck, so I'm guessing not a good sign. Not worth getting another bridge
  10. new avatar, left handed pick playing bass player called Paul, who gives a thumbs up sign, sadly, that's where all resemblance ends
  11. I'm of a completely different opinion, think his songwriting is nothing to shout about, with a few exceptions, there's an awful lot of very twee stuff in there, some of his lyrics are very lazy, "My love don't give me presents but I know she's no peasant" really sets my teeth on edge, but his bass playing is sublime, difficult to play does not make a good bass line. Wouldn't do for us all to have the same opinion though would it? this forum would be very boring indeed
  12. which is why they were never the same when Alan Lancaster left
  13. My tongue was a bit in my cheek, Cliff has released some half decent tracks amongst all the dross, but for me Move It is his best
  14. I've heard the Arrow on occasions and enjoyed it but it's not available on DAB in my area
  15. know what you mean, all the songs in the world, even within a certain genre, and they keep playing the same ones. I've all but given up with the radio since I got a different car that blue tooth's to my phone that has all my music on it, keep it on shuffle, job done
  16. not sure it is, widely regarded as the best (up to that time anyway) British made Rock n Roll record, and could be argued, the last good record Cliff made 😊
  17. I'm sure Pete would be delighted to hear that
  18. rather than start yet another Beatles thread thought I'd post in this one, anyone see the documentary on BBC4 the other week "Made on Merseyside"? I found it quite interesting, obviously done without official Beatles backing, no Lennon and Macca tracks played, but was really nice to see Pete Best in a good place and eventually getting his financial rewards, worth a look for any Beatles fans
  19. old thread I know, but @Lozz196 mentioned Ash in the 3 piece thread and it reminded me about Girl From Mars, only 4 notes in the song but continually in a different order, does my head in.
  20. Green Day do have now, but they didn't for a good number of years, may have even been up to American Idiot, Basket Case always goes down well
  21. I came across this info a while ago which I found interesting Pre-Shape 1:+6dB at 50Hz and 2kHz, -6dB at 400Hz. Pre-Shape 2: +5dB at 100Hz, +3dB at 3kHz and -5dB at 650Hz.
  22. the presets are very seductive, they sound great when playing on your own, but if you mean the sound can get lost in a band situation I think you're right, I use a bit of overdrive (Sansamp clone) so the compressor doesn't seem to do anything
  23. if you expand it to 3 piece plus a non instrument playing singer, which is the same thing, there's a lot more
