I think they are safeguards in place to stop this happening, they would need access to your bank account, something Name, account number and sort code doesn't give them.

as I understand it there's no problem giving enough bank a/c info out for someone to pay money in, they can't get money out with it, it's no more than what's on a debit card or cheque

my home insurance covers me outside the house, now if they'd pay out if stuff was stolen from my car or untended at gigs is another thing, if they get a whiff of getting paid (strictly hobby use only) I suspect the claim will be thrown out, but I'm from the "I can afford to replace it so I don't bother with insurance" camp

so one of Absolutes selling points is that they don't keep repeating the same songs, but do it anyway, a logic free zone methinks

same for me, I use a P bass and just whack the gain up to 10, the warning light doesn't come on, whenever someone borrows my amp they always turn it down, and the one at the rehearsal studio is never on 10 when I get there, they're obviously not using their ears or the warning lights

nothing to do with royalties, just plain lazyness, lack of musical knowledge, and an assumption that listeners don't listen for more than an hour or two at a time. I listen to Gold in the car, they play oldies from the 60's, 70's and 80's, you'd think they's be loads of choice but the same tracks keep popping up, it's like nobody can be bothered to reprogram the playlists

I had a similar thing, listed an item while the sell for £1 was on, sold it, the buyer didn't pay, raised a dispute, and closed it when the time ran out, got my selling fee back, was asked if I wanted to relist it which I did, sold it again and got charged the full selling fee, it was only a couple of quid so I didn't bother arguing but it did annoy me

for all it's faults I've found E bay is still the best place to shift stuff, and I find you don't get so many daft questions or time wasters, I try Gumtree and FB first if I'm not in a hurry, but usually finish up on E bay. Trouble with Basschat is it's the only one you have to pay for if you don't sell, and I don't like selling anything that's less than perfect to fellow basssists, and there's usually something that's not quite right otherwise I wouldn't sell it would I? "best bass I've ever owned" yeah yeah that's why you're selling it

it is surprising how often this happens, especially if the it's a Marquee festival, outside everything is clear, especially the bass, inside just a trebley mess, lots of gigs sound better with ear plugs in for the same reason. Seen From the Jam a couple of times, with and without Rick Buckler, top gigs and one of my bass playing heroes, his bass lines add so much to the songs. He always uses a P when I see him

one thing does puzzle me about the need for a Thumpinator (and I agree you don't want low end crud) if it's inaudible why wouldn't amp designers design their amps not to produce it, after all it's soaking up power to no obvious benefit

the normal way of measuring is from the top of the fret, not the fret board

a good point, so borrow one or buy a cheap 2nd hand Squire learn to play a bit, or have a couple of lessons, then go and test out some basses

yep, I bought one of these and it's very nearly as good as my MIA P, just one word of warning, I bought mine new and the set up was awful, basically it hadn't had one, so if you can't do your own, that may need factoring in as well, don't know what other cheap basses are like. But if you're right handed there's loads of second hand stuff out there and if you decide it's not for you, you won't lose much money on it

can't you do a factory reset to restore the preset patches? that's how I've done it on my B1on, having said that none of the default patches ever get used. has it got the tonelib software that the B1on can use? Must I'm very tempted to get one just to have a play around with, are the overdrive effects better than the B1on?

being a lefty I always stand on the right for this reason, but I've noticed on multi band bills the bass amp is nearly always on the left

We've just started playing with a guitarist who is depping for us for a few gigs, so far he's picked three songs, rightly, we're playing wrong, we've been doing them for years and nobody's ever said a word before, he's a bit OCD about it, but he doesn't like changing his guitar tone to match songs, hates loads of pedals, bit odd really

as far as I'm concerned the tone control is an off/on switch on my P bass, trying to find something in between is nearly impossible with any degree of certainty

I've got a line 6 G10, very good apart from where the power supply plugs in, very flimsy, I've got round it by screwing a bracket on to the case to give more support, it is such a well thought out unit otherwise you do wonder what idiot thought it was a good idea to have power input socket straight onto the circuit board with no other support

with such diverse tastes in the band I'm surprised you ever got together 🙂 One rule on covers I always try and follow, make sure it's one you audience will know well and can sing a long too, otherwise you may as well just do one of your own
