SALE PENDING Warwick Rockbass Alien Deluxe 5 string acoustic - *SOLD*

No need to organise anything at all. At the last Midlands Bash I did persuade @Andyjr1515 to show us all how to properly set up a bass - tbh just an excuse for me to get him to sort out the intonation on mine! - but usually we all just talk and play bass. There's often a raffle of bits and bobs, any surplus to charity, and a 40 minute "amps off" lunch break is a really good idea too.

The Bass Show UK - Cranmore Park, Birmingham - March 1st and 2nd

A Steve Lawson bass clinic? Count me in! I don't use any pedals or play complex melodic solos, but I absolutle love his stuff. In the even that you've not heard it, check him out on bandcamp, and start with the best of compilations. There is 20 years and 60-odd albums. -
Well, who saw a Stylophone Theremin coming?

You're just jealous of my loincloth collection. @ghostwheel - you may find that those of us who have been on this forum for too long may tend to slip into "in-jokes" that aren't intelligible to others. This can be very rude and make newcomers feel excluded, so feel free to either ask WTF we are on about, or tell us to stop. Or both!

So now you would still run across a major a-road to avoid us, but would put up with the pedantry until the motorway had cleared a bit? Bumping bump.

A little late to the thread but I've chipped in. You realise @AndyTravis that you can now never sell or part with that bass? Future archeologists will be wondering why, in the 21st Century, a man was burried with a Gibson Ripper, and concluding correctly he that must have been a man of great stature in his community. -

What, and spoil a great weekend by giving myself a an even bigger inferiority complex? 😉

The best Formal, and Informal, musical lesson of your life?
Richard R replied to ARGH's topic in General Discussion
The most encouraging thing was a comment made by a friend and great musician at church when I first took a borrowed bass to him and asked if he could show me how to play. "Yep, you're a bass player". He died not long afterwards and I am still trying to live up to that statement seven years later. -

Genius idea as it is, " I bought an Ashdown amp as a present to my beloved Ibanez" is not going to fool anyone! And I don’t actually understand what @OliverBlackman has bought, so on that basis he must be guilty of something 😁

That is lovely!! If it sounds anywhere near as nice as it looks (and I bet it will) that's a keeper.

Church Weekend away this weekend. Our sound man wins the best t-shirt competition by a country mile!

A desktop only web site that doesn't work on a phone. How quaint.
