  1. With all due respect, you'll likely get more interest by posting pics and individual prices on here
  2. Short Circuit - brilliant but terrible 80's film
  3. The third photo reminds me of Johnny Five!
  4. They sound great, they’re just heavy!
  5. Hey all, hoping someone can help me out here! I have a couple of short scales, (a Warwick and a Frankenbass) which are really great instruments apart from one thing - the E string on both always sounds dead. I use light gauge 40-95 - could the 95 be the problem? D’addario nickel rounds, which I’ve used on all my basses for 10+ years. I’m thinking of ordering a 100 to swap it out and see what happens, but won’t if it’s going to be ineffective. On a related note, if I do change the gauge, will the slightly extra tension on the E cause any neck issues? I’m a bit nervous of causing it to twist or something like that, but that might be daft since it’s not going from 95 to 115 or something like that! Plus, 40-100 is a common set in other brands, but might well have different tension. Thanks in advance! Ryan
  6. It’s got to be John Deacon for me. He served the song so well, managing to create bass lines that weren’t too complicated, but still really interesting and full of melody.
  7. Cool tin, looks like a tobacco tin. What’s that rainbow item? I’ll have to add a photo of my current storage tin later, it’s a Darth Vader one
  8. I've got my beady eye on one of these, found it on ebay, £8. Too skint until payday but I think I'll get one then
  9. That's not a bad idea, would look really cool, but I'd need quite a few of them, and some of my picks are quite thick. Plus they wouldn't be super accessible
  10. I didn’t think of that! No lid so not quite what I’m after, but great suggestion! Thanks! I take it as one - I pride myself on being organised and thorough (some might say anal...). I’ve got hundreds of picks, and believe it or not, I’ve never lost one! Great question I organise them by material first, then size/type, then brand. I recently did this and bagged them all in those little ziplock bags, but got a bit frustrated as some obviously fit into more than one category, and those bags didn’t give me the flexibility to change them around easily haha! Thats a neat idea! I’ve found something similar on eBay but 25 slots and square. Might be one to buy on payday! I haven’t - good idea. I wonder if they’d be willing to send me one for not much cost... I do have a couple hundred of their picks
  11. Hi ladies and gents I’m after a guitar pick counter display like you see in the music shops. My local music shop closed down six months ago and I remembered they had one on the last day, but I checked with them and it’s gone now. Anyone know where I can get one (on a budget!) Preferably empty - I want it to store and organise my own pick collection! cheers Ryan
  12. Stick a status up, someone's bound to be heading that way or nearby!
  13. I don’t need this, just wanted to drop in and say it’s really cool of you to give it away for free @therealting might be able to use it for his school
  14. Props for taking the time to reply. Hope your wife is on the mend now
  15. Not hated per sé, but have a list that I didn’t get on with for various reasons... Hondo Ric copy - didn’t like the feel or the sound, not for me. Warwick Corvette $$ 5 string - love Warwicks but this neck was enormous. Aria Black and Gold - proper letdown, was a dream bass for me but arrived broken, plus weighed a ton. Spector Euro - nice but way heavier than their size suggests they should be. Epi Thunderbird - not comfortable for me to play at all. Sold it to the bassist of a famous indie band! Schecter Stiletto 5 - neck dive for days.
  16. Hi all - can anyone use these strings I’ve got here? They’re Warwick steel rounds, cut for 30.75” scale, 2x2 headstock. Would probably work for a front loaded SWB-1 or short scale Warwick, anything like that. Just asking for postage cost which would be about a quid (1st class large letter) cheers Ryan
  17. Can’t post a for sale ad as I can’t afford the fee right now 😥 Does anyone want some free strings?  Warwick steels, cut for short scale 30.75” 2x2 headstock.  Just cover postage.

If it's under 50 quid the ads are free .

      Ah nice one, thanks!

  18. That’s very nice. If I had £350 I’d be all over it! GLWTS
  19. I wouldn’t worry too much just yet, although it’s annoying, he might have a valid reason for missing the practices. Sick kid or something like that. Regarding the synths thing, sounds like someone just needs to be friendly-assertive, and tell him to just pick one so you can get practicing
  20. Depends on his reasons for missing them I guess. But yeah it does sound frustrating, and the synths thing. Has anyone else voiced any concerns?
  21. Jez might not remember me, but I visited him once and played some of his builds, and they’re amazing. I’d love a 30” scale headless 😉
