I've not seen one of these in a 5 string version. I played a 4 string in a shop, a little while back, and was quite impressed......
Just wondering @TAzMilitello - what's the B string like? I know some 5 strings seem to suffer with a bit of a "wooly" B string
Does this bass combat that, with a higher tension B string? Hmmm, interested -as my 5er is starting to feel a bit heavy for my ageing shoulders....

Hi, As I told you in the private message, I have a Dingwall Z which has an excellent low-B string but also very soft, on the Mikro5 instead the string has a definite sound and with a more ready attack and also the tension is higher but really greater under my fingers. It is very comfortable and light. The bass sounds very good and it surprised me! 😉 I had bought it for transport by plane but I recently found a compact headless that I can travel with me!

Interesting. Is this at normal pitch or an octave up like the wingbass? Shame you’re  in Europe, I’m intrigued to try one of these now.

From the string gauge I’d say normal pitch

Hi, no, it's a standard 5 string bass from the low B to the G string, only short scale (28.6"), it has an excellent fifth string, defined and with an excellent attack, only the elasticity of the strings is slightly more rigid to the touch but very comfortable!

Thanks for the reply. How do you find the super short scale across the fretboard?

Are the strings specific to this bass or simply in that length?

Hi! The strings were made both as an ideal custom gauge and as a length.
The bass is very comfortable and fast compared to a standard scale, but you have to get used to it for a few minutes. But after you fly 😂

I have a 4 string Mikro and with the right gauge and scale length of strings on board, it’s a great budget bass. It’s also super light so makes a long rehearsal or gig a breeze. The neck profile widens out as you climb the neck so plenty room for fingers. The stock pups aren’t bad either. I have been tempted to pick up another as a fretless project 😎

Undoubtedly it's a very good 5 string although cheap, but it's really comfortable and it has a very defined Low-B string and a sound that marks every single note. You can do a concert without any problem! Personally, I noticed a better quality on the 5 strings Mikro and on the new satin-finished brown version, compared to the first mikro 4 strings I had in my hands.

      FURTHER PRICE DROP TO £230
Offering up my Squier Vintage Modified 70s Jazz Bass for sale. These are highly regarded and for good reason: fantastic quality, super-solid and with a beautiful neck. Plays as well as any bass I own or have owned, and with a Gotoh 201 bridge, Di Marzio DP 123 pick-ups and a Kiogon ‘push/pull’ loom will be more than a match for many other modern Jazzes. Knobs swapped out too for a more authentic look. A few small bruises as shown. Selling as it just doesn’t get the playing time it truly deserves and I just seem to be more of a Precision man!  Original pickups also supplied. Collection from near Oxford initially please: questions welcomed!

      Hi Folks
I'm selling this Ibanez Musician Studio Fretless Bass on behalf of a friend of mine who's had it in his recording studio for many years but now wants to move it on.
Was up for £675, but It's now offered for sale at £625 or near offer.
As can be seen in the photos, the bass and the case are in good condition for their age, considering they're getting on for 40 years old.
I think the bass is the lined fretless version of the Ibanez Musician ST924WN model, as can be seen here in this Reverb advert a few years ago:
      https://reverb.com/uk/item/1098372-ibanez-musician-studio-bass-st924wn-1979-walnut-mahogany
But hopefully, @Bassassin might be able to offer some words of wisdom on this and put me right if I've got it wrong .. 😁
The bass has recently had a once over by a local guitar/bass tech, so all the electrics are working and it's properly set up. Strings are old though, so they will need changing by its new owner.
Having said that, this bass really has that fretless 'mwahh' sound and it's got seriously loud pick ups! There's a great range of tones available from the active circuitry too..
For anyone seriously interested, the bass can be viewed and tested by prior appointment in the Littlehampton area of West Sussex.
With regards to shipping, its definitely possible to send it via an insured courier service (at buyers expense), but it is a heavy bass as I'm sure anyone looking at this advert with a serious interest in the bass will know.
I haven't weighed it, but it is heavy!! It's kind of like a Rolls Royce of a bass really - everything about it is quality and it's been built to last!
Anyway, if you've any questions about the bass, please send me a PM and I'll go back to the owner to get you an answer, though that may take a few hours or so depending on his availability.
      Thanks for looking! 😊
      Nik
