Well. I’ve gone and ended up with one of these. Great fun, sounds better than I expected. And found a thread on another forum with some patch ideas, as the preinstalled ones are decent but I won’t use most, and I’d rather replace them with stuff I will use. Thanks!

I’ve got a Zoom 506 ii which is alright but I don’t love it, and can’t seem to set the EQ how I want it at all, ever mind easily. I just don’t understand these electronic programmable pedals (I’d blame old age but have always been rubbish with multi-effects). I used to have an original Zoom B1 and that thing drove me nuts haha

Yes you’re absolutely right, I definitely would rather something powered by a 9v or a rechargeable battery. Agreed on the irig situation. I also had a different type of ipad pluggy-in job, can’t remember the name, but didn’t manage to get a sound I enjoyed with either.

Thanks, that’s useful. I do quite like having effects to play with, but find that I barely use them haha. I have a Zoom 506 bass, and mostly just get confused with it and end up not liking what I’m hearing

Oh, apologies - I’ll be honest, I didn’t think to search for that even though I’ve been doing searches for days on the PJB. I’m a silly derrière Yeah definitely not interested in the Amplug at all. Have just been looking at the Ashdown Tone Pocket which looks like it might fit the bill as well.

Hi ladies and gents I don't gig any more, so I tend to just use my GK MB200 for playing at home with headphones. But sometimes I’m not in the mood for that specific GK sound, but also sometimes I’d like to play elsewhere in the house without messing with plugging amp in etc, the cables around my desk are all tidied away and a real pain to get at. So I’m considering a headphone amp. I’ve been looking at the PJB Bighead Pro. But before I take the plunge, I’m wondering if there are any others I should be considering? Obviously it’s gotta sound great, and be battery powered, and needs an aux in. Not worried about DAW connectivity etc though, I don’t record or anything like that, just like to play along with Spotify. Main issue with the PJB is lack of a mid control so if it had 3 band EQ that wouldn’t hurt, but not completely a deal breaker if not. My bass is an active Warwick rockbass. Thanks in advance!

Hey folks, I’m looking for some wall hangers. The Hercules grab ones are an obvious choice but they seem to stick out really far from the wall, and as I have a very small space, that wouldn’t be ideal. Do you know of any that don’t stick out so far, and don’t necessarily have to grab the bass but have decent enough depth on the hooks so they won’t get knocked off easily? Cheers!

Thanks for the input everyone! Definitely some stuff to consider. I think I'm gonna try and save for a 3/4 DB or EUB and see how I get on, and learn some bluegrass stuff on my EB in the meantime

Hey folks I feel like getting into playing bluegrass, as I’ve always been a lover of it, just haven’t got around to trying it out really. Obviously an upright bass would be ideal but since I’m a short chap at 5’ 5” it might be a bit big. Would a 1/2 or 3/4 EUB fit the bill for that sort of music? I’d love to try an upright to be honest, it looks like a load of fun, and more authentic for bluegrass stuff. Alternatively is there anything like the kala u-bass but 30” scale out there? My two bass guitars are 30” (short scale basses for a short scale man,) plus I’m easily confused in my old age and don’t fancy switching between scales too much on similar feeling instruments. I guess could stick flats on one of my current bass guitars - would that get me close enough to the right tones? But then that’s not as fun as new stuff... 🤣 What do you lot think?

If you love how it feels, sounds, and looks, I would keep it. It's hard to find all three in one bass! Is there any reason you can't get close to a jazz bass sound from it? It might not be exact but it looks like it will come close enough for most band situations
