3. I wish I was doing this, sounds well exciting.
4. The Funk thing goes back 50 years, and knowing the timeline from start to finish still has musicologists in argument.
5. My advice would be to go with an idea you have the most passion for, knowledge gain be gained afterwards. What does your gut say?
6. Why don't you come up with some more ideas and Basschat can give you pointers. You've got two good ones already.
7.

This is the kind of music you listen to as a small boy and it makes you realise that music is not about fads and movements, music is about beauty and creation. Speaking as a 45 year old remembering a 12 year old self.
8.
Yeah, it's about the sound. I'm not a huge metal fan, it's not my bag man. Especially not a lot of this newer stuff with screaming singers, maybe a bit of sabbath but I kind of grew out of it for the most part. But i'd take my hat off, I don't like this whole "jagged ugly ass bass, a million tattoos, long greasy unkept hair and beard and BLACK EVERYTHING downtuned to buggery and distorted beyond recognition" thing man, it's so dark, why can't metal bands be a little more cheerful. If the dude was more interested in his sound than his looks i'd be more inclined to give his band a chance though. If someone showed up with an ugly spikemonster of doom but they could play like a boss then I'd have them, no worries.
I love this post.
9. Cardiacs cover by Steven Wilson.
10.
I go with D'Addario strings totally. Their customer service has always been top rate also.
D'Addario customer service was and is second to none.
11. Leave it on stand by for about 15 mins to let the tubes warm up....nice.
12. If that were left handed I would have no hesitation.
13. I want a sparkly bass too.
14. Good aren't they? I had an SVT II non pro, beast. The drive knob is very useful. I'd like one again but they are too heavy. Did you score the GK cab?
15.
And check out marlowes little grin during this especialy after the slap bit, You can tell he likes this one a lot. This gives me so much pre EB gas wish im extinguishing in time with Marlowe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9pjzlmp-zc...feature=related
That's not Marlowe, that's a deeply stoned Jarvis Cocker.
16. Mr Cribbins, genius.
17. I remember him working in A1 Music in Manchester in the late 80's. I asked to try out some bass, left handed, he was very pleasent and handed it to me. He then picked up a bass himself and plugged it into an amp an proceeded to do all this slap stuff very loudly as I was about to try out the bass. Not good.
18. Wow. Ruddy Nora!!!
19.
Great idea. It has to extend to the demonstrators too though.
That's Clutterbuck talking out a second mortgage then.
20. I think there should be a "slap box", similar to a swear box, were any bassist wishing to flash any slap chops has to put a pound in the box. All money collected should go to The Everyman Campaign.
21. He is indeed "the man". Jazz bass with Roto black nylon strings. Yummy1
22.
If I'm correct, Joe Hubbard (who's a member of this site) used to know Jaco a bit, while he lived in USA - maybe he could tell you something about him.
Good call.
23.
Captain Sensible once described me as 'flamboyant'!
I'd say more of a Musketeer.
