2.
he's a serious fanboy. he's replicated all of justins gear the actual song, or just the bass track, cos i've got the bass on its own, the tone is immense!
I love these fanboy vids, especially when they are bad, this one is pretty spot on though. Marks deducted for the shorts.

  5.
Bill doesn't like discussing his designs anywhere but on his own, tightly controlled website where nobody can ask embarrassing questions like, why exactly do you want to build a mid horn for your bass guitar?
Eh?
Did a gig atthe Grand Union in Kentish Town last year where the amp was a years-old 15W Trace Boxer practice amp - aaaarrrggh You can see it - just! - at the back of this photo
Hi Clarky, do you know my old singer and guits band, Jimmy and the Destroyers?

    PM's

    FAB Virgil.
  15. Don't dis Peavey, they are great amps. When I first started gigging in clubs and small venues, I used a Peavey Combo 300, then when I played bigger places, I got a Mark 4 head and 2x15 Black Widow cab, then an SVT stack.
  16. Avoid Ashdown small amps, they have reliabitity issues and configuration limits. Get a Hartke 3500, no hardship to lift, or a, oh I don't know, try as many as possible, spend as little as possible, borrow, it's a mine field. Took my 10 years to find a portable solution to my Ampeg SVT II.
  17. Very good preamp.
  18. Unless they've shortened them since 1993, I used Elites on mine.
  19. Thanks J, it was great to meet you.

  22.
Hey. Recently I've really started to get into DnB and just general electronica and simply I would love to emulate the classic sounds that live bassists use in this style. Here's a fantastic example, Jojo Mayer & Nerve: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvUbl0fWqzU What is the effect that Nerve is using throughout? He's using an expression pedal as well to control the rate of something? I've got a great feeling, that with an expression pedal, I can get similar sounds to these from my G5. Yes? No? Maybe?! Here's another great video, taken from Bass Day UK 2007, Bond's Modulation Video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvF736L9rbo Now if anyone would love to give me a run through the different effects that he use through the video and HOW he uses them, that would be fantastic. I'm particularly interested in that sound around 3:00. Here's a photo of his board for reference: Thanks for everyone's help as usual!!! Rich
Gothic Futurism at its best, sept for Squarepusher.
  23. They played in Birkenhead at "Stairways" in 1988, my wife saw them, however, apperently 5,000 people saw them that night in a 400 capacity club.
  24.
Fair play. Dopesmoker is epic!!!!
Amen to that my friend.
