There is a lot of time, effort and skill involved. Getting the body set up with centre lines, jigs fitted, set up on the table, cost of disassembley, cost of making jigs in the first place, it all adds up. But I understand what you mean about the from £30 stuff.

Smoke a load of skunk, jam for years with your best friends, get a flange pedal and don't give a sh*t.

The Shuttle 6 I tried just sounded so clanky and toppy, it didn't put out any bass that could be felt, IMO. If you care about your tone, then I think for the same money a Mark Bass amp would be better, I like neither but then I prefer the sound of vinyl LPs.
