  1. Always, don’t you 😁
  2. Not really as the foam will mute the fretted notes while the fretwrap is the open strings
  3. They dampen and cut down the overtones of open strings , I’ve got them on all my basses
  4. Drop @ped a message 👍
  5. Pretty sure admin/moderator has to do this for you, there’s no setting for it 🙂
  6. Welcome Simon 👍
  7. I’ve got quite a few fender jazzes various colours and types , the one I’d say is a favourite is a 2014 Olympic white US one, but very close is a jazz elite, both very different , it took me a while to get used to the elite active controls but now I know the sweet spots , and build wise I think you would struggle to get a better quality than the elite
  8. Welcome ollimac 👍
  9. Thanks mr D 😁
  10. Thanks BA, it sounds and feels very different to my other precisions , sort of a different character
  11. Thanks Paul, it’s ok for now but it’s an option If I had to
  12. Not yet 😁
  13. Thanks wot , it’s definitely been well played
  14. Thank you ped, that’s the thing it feels and plays really good, I think I just need to get on with playing it and not worrying about things, excuse the messy bass room I’m moving things around
  15. Hi all, on Tuesday I bought a late 71 early 72 precision I really liked the look of, nice dark rosewood fretboard, great sunburst and 41mm slim neck, only 1 owner from new, it’s been a real players bass so definitely not a case queen, it arrived with heavy flats which wasn’t for me and a high action , so I’ve spent today setting it up with old LTF’s from my other precision and it sounds and plays amazing, now I normally only like 100% original basses (and I’ve turned down lots because they wasn’t) but this has had new pots , apart from that it’s all original, so quick question, would the replaced pots bother you, do you think I’m being too fussy
  16. Lovely bass and personally I wouldn’t go drilling out the markers, I’m sure someone here had a similar experience and used tiny luminous stickers for dark stages, not sure if that’s an option for you
  17. Welcome jack 👍
  18. Yeah it’s definitely too short, you got this one with version added
  19. Really great album
  20. I normally write out my practice routine depending on what I’m working on for each week or month , but always end up just playing the tunes I like 😁, this year I intend to stick with my practice
  21. When I ordered mine I had to go through a shop but you could try and enquire here, this is the email they replied to me with about a few questions [email protected]
  22. I never really measured the height ,I just setup with the lowest action possible but a shop once asked so I bought a gauge and 1.5 at the 12th is my maximum i like, a friend of mine who is a really great player has 3mm and I find his basses hard work to play
  23. I’m the same, obviously a very talented guy but I won’t even click on one video now , my YouTube used to get flooded with his videos
  24. You may have already looked but I’d recommend Mark at Talkingbass, he covers lots of theory and tips from beginner to advanced and he doesn’t waffle on like some others
