  1. This was mine for about 4 months earlier this year and I've got to say, it's an impressive piece of kit for the money! Very useable EQ, plenty of power and we'll featured..and all in a neat and tidy lightweight package. As Dan says, the fan's a bit loud for some, but it didn't trouble me at all to be honest. But then, I wasn't using it for home practicing.. In favt, I only sold it on because I picked up a Hartke LH500 in a trade... Anyway, have a BUMP on me for a great seller and a very good, lightweight amp! 😊
  2. I picked up a series 1 version of this cab recently and it's really, really good! GLWTS
  3. And a very, very good price for a Wal 5 too! GLWTS
  4. Just sold a Peavey MiniMAX to Dan in what was a very straightforward and easy transaction. As said above - Dan's a pleasure to deal with from start to finish so deal with him in absolute confidence Folks... Thanks Dan - hope you enjoy the amp! 😊 Nik
  5. I enjoy playing both 4 and 5 string basses and after years of using both, can switch from one to the other during gigs without any problems at all. After so many years of doing this, I think that that my playing ability and style is pretty consistent whichever bass I'm using, but the way that I use the 5 is definitely different and works really well for some songs and some styles of music. I've never got on with 6 string basses though; had one for about 3 months once and didn't enjoy the experience at all... But having said that, I absolutely love listing to someone like Steve Lawson play one - it's really amazing how creative it can be in the hands of the right bassist.
  6. That's an absolute bargain!! GLWTS
  7. Thanks Paddy And ditto is all I can say to that... 😊 All the best Nik
  8. The bass sounds great to me... 😊 Like the sound of the band too! GLWTS
  9. Just sold an Ampeg 210 cab to Paddy (via Facebook of all places..). Lovely bloke, great comms and he's a absolute pleasure to deal with.. Got to say a good word too about Paddy's son Dan who came to collect the cab this evening.. He's definitely a chip off the old block as he was equally easy going and pleasant to deal with! So, am happy to highly recommended Paddy (and sons) to everyone here in Basschat.. 😊 Thanks Paddy and hope that you enjoy the cab ! Nik
  10. ** Now SOLD** Thanks for looking! 😊
  11. ** Now SOLD** Thanks for looking! 😊 Hi Folks Excellent condition PeaveyMiniMAXβ„’ 500w lightweight Class D bass amp for sale at Β£SOLD. I bought this from @mxm (Matthew) back in the summer as a back up, but to be honest, I haven't been using it at all, so it's time to move it on. This comes boxed with the Peavey carry case and all the inserts that came with it when it was bought new in Dec 2017. It's a feature-rich piece of kit IMO; built-in tuner, loads of tonal options, very lightweight at 5lbs and very loud indeed.. it certainly holds its own with my Hartke LH500! This has classic bomb-proof Peavey build quality, and stays ultra-cool no matter how long you use it for and that's because of the fan inside it which is on all the time and is, for some people, a bit noisy. It didn't trouble me but I know that it's a deal-breaker for some.. Anyway, here's the official Peavey blurb: https://peavey.com/products/index.cfm/item/659/118756 And here's a really informative 41 page thread about the MiniMAX on Talkbass, which I promise you, is not Fake News!: https://www.talkbass.com/threads/peavey-mini-max-head-thread.1050697/ And here's a Basschat thread about the amp: httpsw.basschat.co.uk/topic/285506-nad-peavey-minimax-500-watt-bass-amplifier-head-review/?tab=comments#comment-3055963 Happy to ship within the UK via insured/tracked courier, and anyone who's near to Littlehampton in West Sussex would be very welcome to come and give it a try! Tea/Coffee/Biscuits available of course, along with very friendly Cockerpoo puppy who will demand all if your attention! 😊 Any questions, please ask away here or PM me. Thanks for looking. Nik
  12. +1 And much smaller in the flesh than you think, making them very portable. GLWTS
  13. Are you sure about the way that last sentence reads, Pawel? 😁
  14. Love these units! They sound really, really good and are as 'valvy sounding' as it gets .. Quite rare too. 😊 GLWTS
  15. Obviously not, if you keep unearthing basses like this one! 😊
  16. Fab bass Pawel, Where/how do you keep finding these vintage beauties? Nik
  17. Thanks yet again Silvia, A brilliant blog and some great photos of a great day.. Not sure what Trevor's complaining about regarding the photos though - he's obviously missed the second one you put up of me where I look like I'm trying to play bass after a triple dose of diazepam! 😁 Anyway, thanks again for putting this together - it really brings back just how fantastic some of the gear was at this Bash and what a good day it was. And as you say, here's to next year's Bash!😊 Nik
  18. This is a beautiful sounding cab and with the LMIII that Pawel's also selling, it makes for a fabulous, hi-quality and lightweight rig! I'm surprised to see it being moved on so soon Pawel, but it's way to powerful a rig to be sitting around at home not being used. Sorry it hasn't worked out for you as planned but it does mean someone else is going to get a bargain which is no bad thing... GLWTS 😊 Nik
  19. Very true, Mick! Now, lets get back to talking about this wonderful Mesa rig.. Have a free BUMP Chris. 😊
  20. Thanks Joni, I was only following your equally precise instructions! 😁 Hope you're enjoying the bass... Nik
  21. That's very impressive Chris - you must be on 3 Shredded Wheat a day!! 😁
  22. 53 lbs according to the Mesa website, Mick..
  23. This is such a bargain for a bass of this rarity and quality, let alone that it's got proper British boutique pedigree! GLWTS
