  1. Thanks Jules, they work OK - it's just that two have been replaced by 'one piece' units and are not black - mmmmm - so it looks like I need the knurled knobs 'and' the thread assemblies All the best Tim
  2. Thanks for the reminder - hopefully it will be Howard to the rescue - yet again !!

  9. Hi Guys, what would you think the chances are of a 1968 P bass having a birds eye maple neck being factory fitted & original from new ?? Ta very glad .
  10. That's what I thought! so it was 'never' an original stock option / feature then??
  11. Can't recommend Fender CIJ or MIJ '62 RI Precisions highly enough - superb instruments - outstanding build quality & value!!
  12. Hi chaps, has anyone ever seen a strap button fitted to the lower horn in addition to the one on the top horn on early Fender basses as per the below pic??

  14. Think my head just exploded !! it's not a Precision is it ??- great bass, just wish I was young and clever enough to understand it - good luck with the trade !! ps - I've owned a few Status basses over the years - currently have an S1 fretless - they were all fab and I still yearn for a bog standard Kingbass - just love the body shape - type bump !!
  15. Probably one for the Fender experts - is it possible / feasible for an L series serial number denoting 1964 to have a June 63 butt end date neck attached?? Even allowing for the Fender modular build system - 7 months apart may seem unlikely wdyt?????
  16. The 'Hob - Nob' of Basses .......... 'again' !! Love my passive Jack, the post says it all - headless / thru neck for not much dosh + fits into a guitar case and therefore out of sight in most car boots / stays in tune for ever / lightweight / can't recommend these fat wires strongly enough type bump!!
