1. The 'Hob - Nob' of Basses .......... 'again' !! Love my passive Jack, the post says it all - headless / thru neck for not much dosh + fits into a guitar case and therefore out of sight in most car boots / stays in tune for ever / lightweight / can't recommend these fat wires strongly enough type bump!!
2. Hi Kev, welcome to the forum - I'm guessing this is your 4HS with a swampash body, tortie plate & lined fretless rosewood board - drool !! - get some pics up & share the love !! I'd have this in a heartbeat if I wasn't so in love with my Status S1 fretless & couldn't let her go to conform to the 'one in - one out' policy - so kindly instigated by the current kitchen viper post my descendancy into fossildom !!! Good luck with the sale, but I don't think you'll need it!!
3. Buggeration! too far away & I'm not going to the Bash !!
4. Just my luck - been waiting for two years for one with this spec & it's a lefty !! Great bass - good luck with the sale
5. tee hee !! - but seriously folks - ask a good quality luthier to build you a fretless of this standard & spec - then make sure you are sitting down before they give you the price - unbelievable value all the live long day - someone will be a very happy boy or girl !! Dip yer bread as we say up north !!
6. Coco I should!!!!!!!!
7.
Please see previous PM's and those above. Thanks, Kevin.
?????????????????????????
8. Bargain alert for the Status fretless - blinking fab build quality, sounds & playability - love mine to bits !!
9. Sorry, I'm at least a scrillion miles away from you ! - good luck with the sale, but I don't think you'll need it - as these are great sounding bullet proof combos
10. Hi, where are you located?
11. Great Guy, deal with absolute confidence Chaps - a true Gent!! Thank you
12. My vote would go to a Hohner Jack - much easier to play on a strap, standing up than the cricket bat type - l have both & the latter is a delight to play sitting down, but is a bit of a handful on stage due to the way it 'hangs'. But that could just be be & my beer gut getting in the way if course!!!!

14. Can't see any evidence of a previous hole - so it's totally baffling why they would position it 'that' far out of position from 'the norm'??
15. Must be my age accelerated OCD - but should the position/sighting of the button but me off buying this - even though the neck date looks 'very' cosha??
16. Hi again chaps here is a pic of said hootenanny button position - does it look cosha to you?? thank you
17. Thanks Chaps, Have you ever seen the hootenanny button on the reverse of the headstock sited lower down horizontally than the 'usual' place & more in line vertically with the worm shaft of the A tuning peg, instead of the usual 'more central' horizontally position under the shaft of the cog of the A tuner vertically - if you know what I mean!!
18. Hi Chaps, does anyone know when 'Fender' was first stamped into the machine heads of Precision Basses & has anyone ever come across the hootenanny button on the rear of the headstock being in 'various' positions?
19. Great pick up configuration this - split P thump + Jazz growl - type burmp!!
20. Quality amps & then some type burmp!!

22. oops sorry !! - but if the light now comes on - you must be heading in the right direction? have you taken the control back plate of to see if any of the wires have become detached? - 'carefully' of course! Don't worry about the battery cover - they are a well known weak spot on the active Jack basses & more are broken - than intact. If you can't see any loose contacts - a good squirt with switch cleaner in both cavities has worked wonders for me in the past. Good luck with the sale - if of course it hasn't sold yet, as at that price - it should have gone days ago!!!! - come on Guys I'd have had this myself if I didn't already own one!!!!! ps - a coupe of years ago I asked several guitar bulders for a quote for a lightweight, headless, thru neck bass, the average quote was around £1600 - albeit with more exotic woods, hardware & electronics etc & although I'm sure they would be superior in every respect to the Hohner - that was way out of my price bracket!!!
23. Having owned several Hohner Jack basses - & still own an original passive one - which is fab !! I can not praise these workhorses highly enough!! However, having also owned several Status basses & now being lucky enough to own a Washburn Status S1000 - in my very humble opinion, apart from them both being headless & both having through necks - in every other respect they are like chalk & cheese - i.e. Status pickups, Status active circuitry & the Status phenolic(?) fingerboard alone justify the extra cost of the S1000, plus being a 'low action' freak - I thought I'd got the action on my Hohner as low as I thought was possible on any bass - but I've managed to get the action on the S1000 'even lower'!! However, please forgive my ramblings - this Hohner Jack is an absolute bargain at this price - so don't hesitate - just get it bought, you will not be disappointed & even if you were, you will always get your money back!! Good luck with the sale, but I'm sure you need it - type burmp !! ps - try rubbing the battery compartment copper contacts with a bit of emery cloth - worked on one of mine where the active circuity wasn't working!! pps - I think this finish was very popular a couple of years ago due to the Guy out of Muse using one before he started using Status basses & friend of a friend sold his for £325 on that t'bay!!!
