  1. Thanks Guys, I always loved with that 'fretless mwoar thang' - but having originally only ever tried unlined and especially unlined and with side dots 'on' where the fret would be on a fretted bass fingerboard - I was worse than useless. So 'gave up' trying !! Then Boomshanka! I was lucky to have a go on a friends lined fretless, with the side dots 'inbetween' and found that even an old cloth eared duffer like me could play accurately 'and' intune - well 'almost' !!
  2. Thanks Martin, It's spent much more time in it's case than being played during the couple of months I've had her - unfortunately !!
  3. **Price drop to £1500.00 to a good home** **Final price drop - now £1250.00 - to a very good home** I'll spare you the tale of woe that unfortunately necessitates the sale of this beauty !! Needless to say that if I didn't need the dosh - it would be going nowhere! Status Kingbass Standard, lined fretless with side markers between the fret lines which extend over the side of the fingerboard, making playing very easy and comfortable for us mere mortals. Rob built this for me earlier this year to my specs and made a really incredible 'work of art' which is also - in my very humble opinion - the most naturally sounding and playable Fretless I've ever had the pleasure of making a row with. Not being a great fan of mahogany, Rob very kindly created an Alder body, with a book matched arched Ash face and the result is nothing short of stunning. You really need to see it 'in the flesh' to appreciate how gorgeous it is, as my photography leaves much to be desired I'm afraid - sorry. He also kindly agreed to make this in a passive version, as being Fretless I thought an active preamp was unnecessary as the combination of the neck and bridge pickups, with individual volume controls and a passive master tone control would give all the Fretless tones I would ever require - got that one right ! This is a very lightweight bass weighing just a smidge over 7lbs, it balances perfectly on a strap and just 'hangs there' making it a dream to play. The condition is 'mint' as it has sadly has never left the house. Complete with the original, also mint Status branded Hiscox case and all paperwork. Grab a dream of a Bass, without the 3 month wait !! Here are the specs:- Model KingBass Standard, Bolt on, 4 String, Headless, Bass Guitar Neck Woven Graphite, 4 String, Lined Fretless, Black Phenolic Fingerboard Scale Length. 34" String Spacing Standard Facing. Ash Body. Alder Finish. Polyurethane with Semi - Transparent White Tint Pickups. 2 x Soap Bar Circuit. Passive Hardware. Black Custom Options. Lined Fretless with side markers between the fret lines, set up with Double Ball Vintage Nylon Black 40-60-80-100 Strings, so the fingerboard is unmarked! I would obviously prefer cash on collection, but I still have the original box and so if someone wishes to employ the services of their chosen courier, I can package it up really well - in the original box and accept payment via Bank Transfer. If you wish to price up a courier - the dimensions are 130cm x 44cm x 18cm and the maximum packaged weight would be no more than 15kg. Thank you for your time and interest
  4. These '68 Precisions are 'something else'!! The last of the pre large Fender 70's style logo models, which retain all the good bits from the pre CBS era such as:- being lightweight, nitro pick guard,'hootenanny' button, 'threaded' bridge saddles, those gorgeous, very rare lollipop tuners - which as far as I am aware were only used for three years from 1965 to 1968 and initially only on Jazz basses!! Plus the advantage of a 'B' profile neck, which many players - like me - find far more comfortable to play than the wider 'C' profile neck fitted to earlier P's & Mojo by the bucket load - type bump !! Having been lucky enough to have owned and played numerous pre & post CBS basses over the last 40 + years, as good as they were - In the words of Mrs. Slowcombe 'I can say without fear of contraception' that in my very humble opinion, none have come close to my '68 P for playability, sound and 'mojo' !! GLWTS - once that neck / truss rod is sorted, which could be a very simple fix, the new owner will be a very happy bunny indeed !!
  5. Hi Paul, Thank you for your interest - I'm in North Staffordshire - right turn at J15 of the M6 All the best Tim
  6. £30.00 for the Ashdown Combo - collected, or postage @ £25.00 The Ashdown, After Eight 15w is great for home , or office etc practise, but would struggle to be heard live, unless it was a 'very' quiet acoustic gig + I would recommend using an extension speaker for a bit more volume and warmth and it does have the obligatory aux. in for a CD etc and headphone out for silent practise if required. Cash on collection would be good as the Ashdown After Eight 15w Combo - (which is quite old, but it seems to be working OK) is quite heavy. but does have the great feature of an extension speaker jack, which is not very common on small combos. If you are too far away - I can post - at the buyers expense, or you could send your own courier, as I tend to use Parcelfarce which I know are not the cheapest, but I can drop off at the post office. Payment via Bank Transfer or Paypal, as a gift - so no fees - ta! Thank you for your time and interest.

  9. John is a Great Guy and an absolute pleasure to deal with !! Excellent communication and I would recommend him to anyone without reservation !! Thanks again John and I hope you enjoy the cab as much as I briefly did !! All the best, Tim
  10. Fab amps these and very, very loud and underrated - just because they are made in the far east - like almost everything else!! Sold mine earlier this year when I was short of beer vouchers , but instantly regretted it and so bought another as soon as I could afford
  11. Well, I finally manage to obtain the cab of my dreams & then I receive the vet bill from hell before I even got the chance to play a gig with it!! This is the rare 8ohm version and therefore is ideal as an extension cab if you are lucky enough to own the combo. It is both small & light, plus the build quality is second to none and it is in lovely condition with just the obligatory few scratches to the protective corners. **I have just amended the listing - having assumed that the speaker would be an Electrovoice?? however in the interest of getting the details correct before letting her go - please see the next paragraph** 1 x 12 front facing Celestion Neo BN12 - 300s 300w speaker - I presume that the original speaker was an Electrovoice? and it has been replaced at some stage?? - but then again what do I know?? - apart from that Lean Celestion sold them at £111.00 each until they sold out of them + it sounds fab and makes the cab ridiculously light. I have actually played in an 8 piece band with the 200w Neo 10" version of this speaker (which had a brass section, a reincarnation of Rick Wakeman and a really loud drummer from the planet Loud) & was asked if I could 'turn down a bit' - what's all that about ?? - having thought about it though, it probably wasn't the volume, but my really rubbish playing !! High quality adjustable horn AND a passive downward facing 1 x 10 driver - phwoar!!! - which appears to be the original one. Comes complete with an original Mesa cover. All this & I never even had the pleasure of rehearsing with it, but it sounded blinking fab at home Bought very recently from a fellow basschatter, for £250 + postage, so I'd just like to get the same back for it, to go towards the vitnery bill!! Would prefer cash on collection, or payment via Paypa - 'as a gift', or Bank transfer & buyer to arrange their own courier please. Pics to follow when it's light
  12. Tom is a great Guy and an absolute pleasure to deal with !! Thanks again Tom, All the best Tim
  13. Original mid 80's HOHNER B2 passive headless four string bass in fantastic condition with just one small 4mm chip on the rear at the back, so can't be seen from the front. One owner from new - me! Low action all the way up the neck, good intonation, Licensed by Steinberger Tuning system - so stays in tune. Lightweight - under 7 pounds & sounds "Fab"!! Through Maple neck nd Maple wings. Will be very sad to see this go after almost 30 years, but needs must I'm afraid. I have owned several over the years - both passive and active and in my humble opinion, this sounds better than the active ones - plus there is no battery to change, or active preamp to go wrong, as they are prone to. Plenty of power from the original humbucker pick ups. Lovely bass and the new owner will definitely not be disappointed. Please feel free to come and try it out - you will love it.
