  1. Belgium...........
  2. Forgive me saying, but the carpet doesn't look sticky (or dirty) enough for a punk band, regardless of the number of strings
  3. Do you have to take the jack plug out to put the sunroof up?😬
  4. This might be addressed by Ped, or the wider knowledgeable and practical end of readers.....As the proud owner of a number of Ped's fantastic straplocks, I find the top screw in my fender jazz gently comes loose over time. No problem with my trusty Swiss Army Knife phillips screwdriver to hand at a gig (so long as I have it with me), but is there an alternative solution? I really don't want to clog my beloved Fender CS with glue! Perhaps I should be more Bill Wymanesq at gigs!
  5. Twin Channel 300w Combo, 500w when used with C4 Cab. I bought a second C4 Cab which has only been used once or twice. The combo and cab are both c 10 years old. The bottom C4 cab is c 7 years old. New, the amp costs £825 and the C4s cost £395. As far as I can see the new version of the Suitcase only has one channel. I bought this originally so I could run fretted and unfretted settings at the same time. PJBs are renowned for their clear sound. I also run an Ear-Box through the rig (not for sale, but recommended) and tend to use a Noble Pre-Amp (also not for sale!) for a fantastic vintage sound. For the majority of their lives these have been used as a practice rig (my main rig as a Handbox/Mesa D800 plus barefaced). I used the combo in big band at music school for a while. It has one small ding bottom front left at about 7 o'clock, and the back tolex on the amp and top cab have very slight edge lifting from being in the sun in my office. Otherwise very carefully looked after and never abused. Combo ways a chunky 40 lb and each C4 weighs 29lb. I have the slip covers, but not boxed. Therefore prefer collection. I live in Ealing. Interested buyers are very welcome to come and try it out. I am left handed, so you may need to bring your own bass!
  6. What a great looking bass. I wish it were left handed! GLWTS
  7. I think it’s time that this bass gets bumped to the top. Risk 101 is very fastidious about his basses, but it’s (potential)replacement will be hard to beat this one!
  8. So that's exactly the combination I use mine at at gigs (plus DI into the mix). They are an absolutely fantastic little amp. Very small and portable.
  9. As an owner of a 1980 PEB Stingray I've found this thread really interesting. To add a niche comment, the mis-alignment on mine is on the E string, not the G String (which is perfectly aligned). They must have had one jig for the positioning of the pick-up/bridge. This hasn't stopped me experimenting with the relative height of the G string (using the adjustment screws, not mucking about with the pole pieces. IT sounds pretty even to me, but the bottom end response of the E String is pretty full on at all times.
  10. I think that Glasto vid. is one of the very best combinations of act and audience I have ever seen. It was just brilliant!
  11. This is very true. What I didn't make clear was my sister and her son (who owned the ferrets) are both vets. Over the years there have been cats, dogs, Lincolnshire Longwool Sheep, ducks, Alpacas, an owl, chinchillas...oh...ferrets...and the funniest of the lot was Cyril the Squirrel.
  12. My sister kept ferrets for a while as part of her homage to Dr Doolittle's menagerie. They were very playful (if slightly smelly) and liked ambushing things/people. Small persons' birthday party balloons were a particular favourite for full on attack (no flinching at the noise). One ferret tried to ambush my sister while she was on the loo. It unfortunately decided to pounce just as she got up while simultaneously flushing the toilet. There then was a mad scrabble with a slightly desperate look, for the ferret to climb back out of the toilet, looking slightly bedraggled but still up for some more mischief. I can also recommend ferret racing.
  13. This intrigued me. Are you happy to share a picture of said high end bass?
  14. That's a lovely bass. I suspect it's quite similar to my CS in set-up, tone and options and mine cost me over £1k more (it is a lefty). Looks a steal!
  15. The sound of a Six
  16. check out the solo at the end of this (albeit it was apparently recorded on a Danelectro)
  17. It would seem he had two!
  18. But are they Pre CBS Rust wraps?
  19. since we are getting into show and tell territory..... This one form Feb 1980, so a bit younger. It looks like a batch of lefties were made around then....this is my second...
  20. Is the fight with an angle grinder on this one because the previous owner retro-fitted a comfort-curve or what ever they are called? It's a lovely looking bass by the way. I wish you joy in you releasing your inner Bernard Edwards!
  21. I do have a somewhat involved cautionary tale about different forms of tuning... Our keyboards player (an aged pop star who didn't do tech) had a pretty ancient keyboards set up where the backup (motherboard...internal) battery finally gave up the ghost. He had a panic and asked the rest of the band to help. We looked it up on the internet and found the (very involved) replacement routine on a You Tube demo, which we proceeded to follow, half an hour before a gig (big mistake!). The routine involved opening the keyboard and taking at least one very substantial motherboard off to find the one CR32 buried at the bottom of the last motherboard. OK so far. We replaced everything and turned the keyboard on (five minutes before gig) to discover that the pitch of the keyboard had returned to factory settings : (concert (??) pitch). Basically this required all the band to de-tune about a tone, about 30 seconds before said gig. The Keyboards player then re-discovered the tuning option on his keyboard to return to normal (10 seconds before gig). Luckily we all had our own tuner pedals to return to where we started.
  22. These are such versatile speakers!
  23. I bought mine ages ago (it's bomb proof). The functionality is way OTT for me, and there are now much lighter versions. Also your tuning is only as good as the rest of the band (weak link theory). I think it will last longer than me. My guitarist uses the boss pedal 😁
  24. So these are bomb proof and utterly reliable if they are plugged into the mains. If I am honest, I don't understand 95% of the functionality (and hope I never will), They are heavy, but they are very accurate, including those OMG moments between numbers when you think you pulled a little too energetically on a string... If you look carefully you will see it on mute at the front of my Pedaltrain.
  25. Did you learn this one too?
