  1. And you’ve plainly lost control… …and what a way to do it - nice.
  2. I’m going to pile on with the Tech21 VTDI that @Cat Burrito suggests. I use one through my clean, Phil Jones rig.
  3. Likewise, it’s all part of the history and mojo of the instrument. Old instruments tend to have dings and wear, unless they’re case queens and I’m suspicious of old basses that haven’t been played, i wonder if they’re not so great, therefore, unplayed. As to the cost, if you’re happy with the amount, it’s all good.
  4. Smooth Operator - Sade
  5. Looks like we have a winner. There is a Gotoh with those saddles in a tray design (a 404BO-4) but it doesn't have the top plate, with grub screws, it's a quick release.
  6. Go to the basses for sale section, type in the bass you’re looking for in the search box (top right), select ‘this forum’ from the drop down in the search box, enter.
  7. Love Missile F1-11 - Sigue Sigue Sputnik
  8. Darkness on the Edge of Town - Bruce Springsteen
  9. Does Everyone Stare - The Police
  10. Milk & Alcohol - Dr Feelgood
  11. I played there once and a number of the above points sound all too familiar.
  12. Shiny Happy People - REM
  13. They were a staple in our household, when I was growing up. My dad was a big fan.
  14. The Macadamia - Los Del Rio
  15. A couple of new ones for next month’s gig, The Night by Frankie Valli & Co and Start by The Jam, neither of which were chosen by me. The band knows how to keep the bass player happy.
  16. A thoroughly recommended night out. The words tight as a gnat’s chuff doesn’t get close to how good Phil’s band is.
  17. Shale We Dance - Yul Bryner
  18. Clever Trevor - Ian Dury & Co
  19. Hey Stoopid - Alice Cooper
  20. Ah, I have it, Schrödinger.
  21. I’m A Yankee Doodle Dandy - James Cagney
  22. Deer Prudence - Siouxsie and the Banshees
