This is spot on. My Mustang is slab bodied (although the edges are fairly rolled) but comfy enough. My hand normally falls on a P placed pickup, between the pickups on a J or at the front corner of an MM, I'm not a close to the bridge player - normally. However, the Mustang shape and size drops my hand into that classic near the bridge position position that adds that tighter, slightly nasal tone. On a Mustang, with its darker, fuller sound, is an absolute boon IMO.

Great T shirt. I wore mine so much it just became a series of holes held together with some cotton.

If that is actually starting to get you down, perhaps it is time for a rethink after all. If it doesn't bring you any kind of satisfaction whatsoever, what's the point? Only you know the real answer here and no amount of cajoling and positive vibes from us in the BC community will change that, at lest certainly long term. Do you like playing at all, or does it fill you with self loathing? If the latter, pack it in and do something else; life's too short.

I didn’t have a problem intonating my 4003s, fiddly yes, but ok. The twin truss rods are weird but, again, something that is not insurmountable. The weight of my all maple one, however, was a different issue. The thing was a boat anchor, a great sounding boat anchor, but an anchor nonetheless. I should’ve bought a walnut one, they’re much lighter, but I was seduced by the fireglo finish.
