You are correct, Sir. An area of overlap does the trick, it did for me at least.

A good connection with the control plate will work.

Making sure it’s connected to earth is key.

A proper bit of shielding and they’re as silent as the grave. I should say, any shielding, as, other than the control plate, there isn’t any at all, which is poor.

Toothpicks FTW here. If you break/cut it and insert the wider end in first, you compensate for the screw taper. If it’s very loose, then 2 may be required.

They are insidious wee things, I reckon they're laced with crack or heroin in the nitro. My poor old custom basses don't get a look in and I find myself wondering about selling them .

Try playing with the upper ‘corners’ rather than the point. This is how I use my picks on bass, I also use a .73 (good enough for Bobby Vega).

I remember playing a Vintera P at a show when they were first released, I was very impressed, especially with the neck, a V profile IIRC. The Vintera Mustang is good too. It seems that the top flight MiM (Vinteras and signatures) instruments are extremely good. I haven’t seen any Vinteras recently, supply seems to be poor. Black PG? Oh yes!

Prepare to want one for yourself.

I don’t know about drop ins, but I’d take the opportunity to fit lightweight ones and plug the holes.

No need to justify the extra string when a bass looks that badass.
