I’ve recently added a Sine HPF. It’s replacing a Rafferty which I really like but it’s just a bit big for my board. So far, in two rehearsals, the Sine seems to be doing exactly the same as the Rafferty so I’m happy.

My older unit doesn't have the jack input option but there are times when I just want to plug a bass in without using the wireless. If I used a switchable AB switch with the AB as inputs, one for the Shure and the other for a non wireless input that's an OK solution? Or am I missing something obvious!

Neither do I but it works very well as a stand for a tablet holder which appears to be what you need.

What live albums to you "appear" on...

No idea if any of the Brighton Dome gig made it onto the album of the same name but I saw Weather Report there on the 8.30 tour. The bass player was pretty good as I recall.- 72 replies

Ever bought gear you regretted buying?
SuperSeagull replied to snorkie635's topic in General Discussion
Ashdown Rootmaster head and a pair of the 1x12 Neo cabs, sounded lightweight, build quality of one of the cabs was dreadful. Gigged it once, sold it right after. But I know there will be folks here he would take the opposite view - it’s all about opinions! -
I’ve just ordered one. Grant messaged me to say he is quite busy with orders at the moment and I suggested it might be as a result of discussion here! Even so he reckons with me by Weds so no real delay. Will compare and contrast with my Rafferty which works brilliantly but I do need a small footprint pedal plus less bothered about the pre amp and phase switch.

I have a Rafferty which I bought used on here. I like the subtle tightening up of a boomy bottom end - but the footprint and layout don't work so well on my board so may put up for sale and get one of those Sine ones.

Or attaching the drummers hands to his sticks. -
I have mine after my sansamp then I can give FOH a signal without HPF for them to do as they wish with and I have the benefit of the filter via my on stage amp.

I have just tried some of the Legacy brand from Strings Direct at £15 for a set, so far so good at around £7 a set cheaper than the Elites I would usually buy. The Status always gets Hot Wires which are great value.

Sorry to hear this. I went through something that sounds a little similar 13 years ago. Hope you get some answers and resolution soon. -

Where to get good quality speaker cables?
SuperSeagull replied to Linus27's topic in Accessories and Misc
After issues with my Gear 4 Music unbranded speakon cable at the weekend I'm doing the sensible thing and sorting one with Neutrik connectors. But, do I need 4mm or 2.5mm cable? Its a MB CMD 121 combo running into a MB 121 extension cab - so max 500w at 4 ohms. I'm assuming thicker is better? -
I use a Thomann branded one on a wide Levy’s strap.

We played an outdoor event yesterday, in a combination of rain, sun, wind and a bit of thunder. Fortunately we were well covered and the turnout was pretty good in the circumstances. A few songs in my MB setup wasn't right. Not enough volume and no bottom end. I could see the speaker in the combo pounding away but no movement in the extension cab. Between songs swapped out the speakon lead for a spare jack to jack speaker cable I carry and all was good but these things are always a bit stressful when they happen mid performance.

That's the one, Arms not Head!

Which pub is that? We've done the Kings Head in Dorking a couple of times during their festival. It's a nice spot.

Ta re the first point. Good to know. I need to listen to the phase switch, I’m not sure I’ve really done that yet.

I have a Rafferty HPF that I bought on here. I have no real understanding of how it works (despite having a son with a PhD in Acoustics who is also an excellent guitarist) but I know it does something subtle but wonderful to my sound. I adjust the freq control to the point that it sounds a bit rubbish then dial it back a bit. Everything seems to tighten up. I now need to see what the phase switch does!
