  1. That’s exactly how I feel too... I just enjoy playing at home and don’t think I can be bothered anymore. Fixed schedule, carrying stuffs, dealing people’s ego, opinions etc. I already do that everyday at work. I think that’s enough for me for now. Dont want the sound weird but IMO, gigs were over long before Covid. We (at least me... and most of my friends) are used to nice clean sound, not to go see random bands playing random stuffs too loud with shitty acoustic in dirty places. Got old maybe. I have a « band », we gather... sometimes. We jam, because we like it. Then we drink beers and we go home. I just realized I enjoy much more recording things I like (Or not) in the comfort of my place, when I fancy doing it, than playing in front of drunk guys that just want me to play Californication.
  2. As much as like the courses, I am just too scared that enrolling for that class will result in EVEN more emails (spams?) and ads each time I open my laptop (let alone YouTube). I like the guy and the classes, but he is not just going all out as you say, for me, he is just killing his own business. Please Scott, I already subscribed... let me breathe!!
  3. !!!??? That’s wrong! no customs out, only the import taxes in your home country. There is no such thing as export barriers. (I am in Switzerland) Quite a few sellers accept to send from France, Germany to avoid taxes (due to YOUR home country once again). I would not do it though, it’s illegal. You can expect to pay the same taxes as if you were buying from the US otherwise. Basically most probably what UK citizens will have to pay in the future when buying anywhere in the EU...
  4. DW is just totally crazy... just love it
  5. I play Spector and no metal at all (not even rock). Never understood why those basses aren’t more popular in the non-violent world of music (even though I perfectly understand why they are popular in angry music)
  6. "this bass is best for metal" (and replace metal with whatever style you like) "this isnt the right bass for this style" "Fender MIA are better than MIM" "My bass is limiting me" "I need that other bass for a project" "I can recognise XYZ bass on this soundclip" (at best you recognize if that's a JB/PB/MM) "Those two JBs are night and day" (while probably playing 2 Fender JB with different sets of strings and/or setup and/or amp, and/or amp and/or a few days apart) "Leo got it right the first time"
  7. I did have some (2) bad ones unfortunately, and none with others. The service client was also an absolute disaster for me. Never again (for valuable items). AlsoI I found that it’s been quite a mess, at least with smaller parcels since they have to handle 20x the normal volumes due to Covid. (But I had the same problem will Royal Mail and a small package that got presumably lost for about 5 weeks) and showed up in my mailbox about 2 months after shipment. Anyway that’s not really the topic... it’s been too long now, can’t be just a delay in the tracking system. Something doesn’t add up.
  8. French here - not surprised the post website isn’t up to date. It’s just total rubbish. I generally avoid using the French post, but anyway... I’d ask for the label. He MUST have received a proof of shipment. No proof —> claim. As simple as that. What’s the shop? I’d be surprised to see you getting ripped off by a reputable shop, but total lack of professionalism (and hidden procrastination) could be an issue here. Either he sent it, either he didn’t, and those guys don’t look very transparent to say the least. Its also his job to initiate a search at the French Post if the package got lost!
  9. Oh gosh... my ultra amber has an Ian Hill neck.. should I be worried?
  10. Please dont end up ordering a NS2 inferno with DW neck... I'd have to break into your flat 🙉
  11. Beautiful! Congrats!! Those EMGX are a great (slight) improvement to the Spectors! Have fun!
  12. Nice mate! Running to see that. in the meantime, I couldn’t help but take the baby out for a pic... sorry I am obsessed
  13. Rebops are incredible. That’s how I got introduced to Spector. I remember trying one maybe 13-14 years ago in a Shop in Paris. It literally blow me away. I couldn’t afford it back then. Took my revenge since. Incredible value for money.
  14. Here you go (NS2 ultra amber burst on a 5A maple)
  15. Thanks 🙂 I love it too! I waited quite a bit to find the one, and at the right price... and I must say I found it! oh almost forgot that I actually have another Spector, more low key. A Coda USA, one of the first ones (#50). Great one, just totally different style 😉
  16. I currently own a NS2, used to have a NS4 a few years ago. I can only speak "as far as I remember" but I find the NS2 more snarly/dirty/mid dominant/thin while the NS4 sounded more scooped/clean and big to me. They both have the nice Spector highs which in my opinion is the main characteristic of the Spector sound. I used to find the NS4 too hifi/clean sometimes. I dislike the sound of the NS2 in a tube amp (too agressive/dirty) for my taste. I could own any of the 2.. They are both amazing. I cried the NS4 for years and I finally re-joined the Spector club a few months ago.
  17. The thing is, there are so many reasons/factors why you might have heard a boost in bottom end with the DiMarzio... that’s pretty much impossible if that was really coming from the PU. EMG or Barto won’t let you down with low end. At least not more than Maple might. Also all of that is pretty subjective. I would personally don’t think any Spector lack bottom end. But again, it’s all very subjective. I understand why people (you) ask those kind of questions, I do too...but in my experience, I rarely bought an instrument that I had shortlisted on YouTube (and vice versa). Those YouTube videos just aren’t reliable. Especially if not a comparison made by the same guy in the same conditions (fingers, strings, amps, recording device). And even that... Is just not. Also take into account the gear you might be using to listen to those videos (not even talking about how compressed the sound was).
  18. Don’t make me start on that... I have a NS2 and a Coda USA. Huge fan here. i used to change bass like underwears... that was before
  19. Are you after something that looks like a thinner JB with JJ or something that’s actually close sound wise? What’s your budget? sadowsky could work (the ones with thinner body), sound wise, I find that Fbass does the trick quite well too.
  20. Same, absolutely no hiss here on the combo MM 2*12
  21. Still under 10GBP actually: https://www.thomannmusic.ch/warwick_46200_m_red_label.htm#
