  1. Definitely on the boundary.
  2. How's that?
  3. They're a decent guitar for not a lot of money. One for free is an even better deal!
  4. I always thought those headless instruments with normal tuners at the other end instead were stupid.
  5. "sensible offers" - sensible to me or you?
  6. I picked up a Novation Super Bass Station on the weekend, so I'm looking forward to having a play with it. It's got lots of knobs on the front and a MIDI port on the back, so hopefully it'll make some good sounds.
  7. Brilliant!
  8. Could I have them please? I have a Simmons control unit (in the loft), but no pads.
  9. I spotted a couple more with the buy-from-some-pawnshop.com image with price and reported to ebay and it's gone (they do seem to react when you tell them it's avoiding fees!). (I couldn't link that one here, because it was the brand which cannot be mentioned...)
  10. I keep looking at this and thinking it'd be good to have in my parts box in-case... ...but then I wonder if that "in-case" would ever arise.
  11. Not too heavy to carry, so good for your Elf...
  12. At £570, I'd have looked at the one here instead.
  13. It's now above what I would've been prepared to pay. Mind you, I've got one, albeit the one where they let a nutter chop the corners off...
  14. I've been working on the fence in my Rickenbackyard.
  15. I got it from someone at work (actually, it was £50 and included the tuners). It lived on a Precision body for a while and then I swapped it to a Jazz; it's also got a Badass bridge, Geddy pickups and control panel, and a Hipshot eXtender/D-tuner.
  16. An update - I spent ages looking for a 2nd original pickup, but in the end a pair of EMG 40Hz 5-string pickups came up and now they're fitted to the Spirit 5; I did have to do a bit of surgery with my Dremel and now need a couple of surrounds to cover the gap either side of the pickup bay, where the EMGs are just slightly narrower. The bass sounds really good now - surprisingly good, I'd say!
  17. It's snuck up to £1,130.00 - somebody's going to get stung!
  18. Every time I look at a for-sale ad of a de-fretted bass, my heart drops. I've got a Jazz with a Mighty Mite fretless neck which is really good and cost me less than £100. Cheaper than stuffing up a decent neck...
  19. I reckon he's Havant a laugh!
  20. It says location is Midlands, but AFAIK, Wilko Johnson (the famous and rather excellent guitarist) lives in Southend. https://www.theguardian.com/travel/2020/jun/08/wilko-johnson-musician-on-life-in-lockdown-i-feel-grateful-to-be-alive
  21. It'd look great with fanned tuners.
