  1. Cheers all - that was a fun day! I blinked and missed most people's kit, but I might've made a couple of Rickenbacker converts, so not a bad result...
  2. @synthaside I don't suppose you're going to the Bass Bash are you?
  3. I've not packed up anything yet, so I'll have a busy morning before setting off.
  4. I'm sure folks would be happy to carry your gear.
  5. Yes - it is a conundrum; goods shifts the onus to the seller.
  6. As a buyer, don't use an unsercured payment method unless you are absolutely sure of the seller's bonafides; if you are thinking of using PayPal "Friends and family" to pay someone who isn't friend or family (the clue is in the name), then don't. Check out the various scammer threads for evidence; me and a number of other people have been scammed and, though I got my money back I simply have that buying rule now. Of course, you have to take the risk that you'll miss out on buying an item; I've had that happen a couple of times.
  7. Interesting... https://www.companysearchesmadesimple.com/company/uk/14022329/uk-tribute-shows-ltd/
  8. Has anybody got a Chapman Stick they'd like to bring along? I've always had a hankering to try one.
  9. Yep... Contents of Packaging: 1X "Electric Guitar - Serafini Liutai" 1X Trem Bar
  10. Huh??? Have you recharged your ironic-o-meter lately?
  11. 2010 vintage, though...
  12. In case anybody needed a matching guitar... https://www.ebay.de/itm/204107341369
  13. Get your 45 spinner out! At last they catalogued them.
  14. I do wish ebay had a block option...
  15. Buy one - they're fun. The downside is that you'll be needing to invest some time to get it set up and will likely need ancillary kit to make it usable beyond the simplest settings (ie. a MIDI switcher and a Neuro Hub).
  16. Hadn't thought of bringing along something to sell, but have one to add to the list.
  17. Yes - there are 4 potential fees regarding imports: VAT, which is only paid for one country, ie. the UK when importing. Excise duties, which relate to booze & fags. Customs duties (tariffs), which are applicable to goods produced outside of the EU. Courier fees charged for them paying the above on your behalf if the shipper hasn't done the admin.
  18. Yes - there's a table/area set out for that; I've previously bought a cab at one of the bashes.
  19. I very much hope that I am right and you are wrong on this occasion! 🙂
  20. I think that page is incorrect or misleading; if the item is manufactured in the EU it is subject to the "Rules of origin" (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/get-proof-of-origin-for-your-goods) as per the free-trade deal. It appears to muddle gifts versus purchases. It's explained in this Which page: https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/advice/online-shopping-do-i-have-to-pay-vat-import-and-handling-costs-ajPOC6A5brEA, which states:
  21. Then there's no import duties.
  22. I've been watching old Benny Hill shows on one of the TV channels; they vary between cringe and hilarious...
  23. Ah - where's it being manufactured?
