Any decent one should do; you could just wander along to a guitar shop and check some out. The headless is about the same length as a guitar, but the body may be bigger. (I think the Status gig bags are OK.)

I've put some things into a 4U 19" rack and at the moment I've got a mains 4-way extension in the rack with its trailing lead running out with a 13A plug on it, which is a bit scruffy. I'd really like to have a connector panel on the back to plug things into and I have a 1U panel and MIDI & jack sockets for it and am looking for a suitable mains socket to complete it. I can then close off the back of the unit with a filler panel, to make it self-contained with three connectors to plug mains/MIDI/audio into. To do that I want to put an IEC (320/kettle) mains socket there, but they all seem to be open-backed with solder tabs for connecting the inner-side wires to (ie. intended for enclosed equipment), so I'd need to do extra work to make the inside side safe. What I'd really like is a M-F coupler which is chassis mounted. Is there such a thing?

Oh man - the ding must've knocked a bit off its value.
Sorry - Its not something I really care that much about, and it clearly is something very important to you, so if you want to refer to them as bass pedals then knock yourself out, I will keep referring to them as midi pedals and we will all be happy.
Sorry - I blinked and missed two weeks of this thread I guess, happily, I must've been doing other things which were very important. So, I hear you ask, what could be more important? Well, on topic, I've now got my MIDI bass pedals connected to a Roland JV-1010 as well as my Minitaur! I do have a lot of sounds to figure out, though, especially considering the bass pedals can go over 8 octaves... Also, on other fronts, I hoovered the house yesterday, washed my duvet and made a nice chicken casserole too! Lots of very important things going on...

I think it's about time for a full stop.

I was expecting a duplicate of the link to the bass made out of a packing case...

You're only supposed to do that to Flying Vs.

FS: Black Strat ++SOLD++
prowla replied to Beedster's topic in Accessories & Other Musically Related Items For Sale
Thank you gentlemen, it is indeed a lovely geetar at a rather competitive price. If I didn't have two other Strats......
That's a lame excuse... Warmoth make great necks, BTW (I think the Fender logo downgrades it!); I have one which cost me almost as much as this whole guitar. -
I was going to email him that question but figured that he'd have some stock answers to smart arse comments.
Well, it might bring down the tone.

On the plus side, it comes with its own packaging!

Find me an uglier Bass...if you can

"Wooden bass guitar" - really went to town on the description there... -
Those angled frets - can't say I'm a fan...

My 1st bass, in 1976, was a Columbus Jazz bass; I bought it from a household electricals shop in the Four Seasons Centre in Mansfield, using money I'd earned filling shelves in Tesco. My recollection is that it was a decent bass, but quite heavy. it was usurped by a Ric a year or so later (I've still got the Ric). I'm happy to leave it in the past. I'd say a current Squier is probably a superior instrument.

I have pics in tinypic and it seems buggy - oftentimes I upload and it says "This image has been removed or deleted", so I have to contact their admins to get it sorted. I also use imgur, but its UI is not easy and sometimes it doesn't show the straight .jpg image link to embed. But heck, they are free, so I suppose you get what you pay for. Sometimes when I try and access google images it prompts me to login. I think Yahoo ones do that too.

Here's a pic. This is how it was (oops!); I've been looking for a neck to put on it, but the other option is to let the body go. The back has some dings.

Please tell me why I should avoid getting a Rickenbacker!
prowla replied to Al Krow's topic in Bass Guitars
Is it an old clip? I know he's done others video's on Ric's, but that was only posted on 31/7/17! Perhaps it's the sentiment that's getting old for you? In answer to the question posed by the OP of this thread, my answer would be don't avoid it, just buy one.
Hmmm, first time I saw it when it was doing the rounds recently, I was pretty sure I'd seen it before. Maybe there's another one of a half-sozzled grumpy old git moaning about how fixing Rics has ruined his life... -
+1 - just 'cos I always want to say this when a defret is suggested :-)
+2 - every time I see a de-fretted bass for sale, I think "That'll cost extra to put the frets back on!".
There is a bit more going on in the guitar bit between the E and B IIRC. Since John Hackett stopped touring with Steve the keyboard player's covered that part.
Yes, I'm sure there is - maybe some octaves; I'll have to work that bit out too... someday...
I've had a hiscox case for my 4001 for a long time. It was the only one I could find big enough
Ah yes, when I said Hiscox, I was referring to the Lite Flite ones.
Aye. The being a prat thing is really the worst part of being a classical organist, hence why I sometimes overplay my jazz side, which makes me cool again - to some limited degree of course. I'm happy you associate pedals with feet, as this is from Latin. Finally I'm more than overjoyed you mentioned the cow nose, as I now see I forgot an important keyboard type when hastily writing my three lines. So, without mentioning a few less important types of keyboard, we have three types, all derived from Latin: keyboard for hand(s): manual (from Latin "manus") keyboard for foot/feet: pedals (from Latin "pes") keyboard for cow's nose / cows' noses: Bos(s) Taurus Nasus
Hence the Taurus bass pedals!
