  1. Very soulful. So intense I'd had enough before the end of the song!
  2. The Kiss, recorded live for The Old Grey Whistle Test is very moving. Judee Sill had a short tragic life.
  3. And a live version: Saw them live at the end of last year in Kings Cross. Awesome.
  4. Understated but with soul. Nice guitar playing too.
  5. Seldom have I read a more entertaining classified ad. The bar has been raised. Chapeau!
  6. Best thing about this is your vocal: It seems to draw me in a la Lou Reed. For the arrangement I'm hearing harmonium instead of guitar, percussion (maybe shakers and congas) instead of drum kit, and double bass in place of the electric bass. Or maybe no bass at all? Nice! I look forward to your next offering.
  7. Agreed. It's certainly excellent news. Fingers crossed all the next stages go well!
  8. Yes, you missed it. Effectiveness, cost and practical advantages are covered in other articles too. It looks like fair and balanced factual reporting to me. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-55040635
  9. Useful and informative. Thanks!
  10. The Diamond Bass compressor. So simple and natural sounding it sprinkles fairy dust on your sound and has a surprisingly useful eq tilt nob with switchable frequency centre.
  11. Time to reactivate this thread... Great live version too.
  12. That's a great sound and inventive, proficient playing. Thanks!
  13. I just love watching that guy on the vids. Tim? What's his story?
  14. An 'always on' compressor for me. It adds a professional sheen to my sound. Good luck with your sale.
  15. I saw them at the Brixton whatever-it's-called-now a couple of years ago and the sound wasn't that good. Ronnie's will be an altogether different proposition. I so much prefer smaller gigs, for the sound and the atmosphere. And you can see the sweat! Large stadium gigs leave me cold. So do pyrotechnics and such shenanigans.
  16. Monday early show for me! Anyone else? Great venue to see such a world class band. Can't wait...
  17. No 5 for me. More harmonics & 'life'.
  18. You want 'heft'? Look no further! Massive effortless power. Bought a few years ago from this very parish and barely used. Giggled and rehearsed with a Barefaced BB2 and the amp was on tick-over. Bridged, it delivers a real 700w into an 8 ohm cab. Comes with an embarrassingly pristine flight case made to fit the QSC by Swan. Does what it should. I'm not gigging now and have bought a small powered speaker for home. An bomb-proof OBBM speaker cable (for bridged used) is included. Pick up preferred. It's not really that heavy! I've cheekily lifted the description below from Amaz*n. Description Takes over the room but not your rack. At only 2 rack spaces, 13" deep, and 21 lbs., the QSC PLX1202 audio amp cranks out up to 1,200 watts (bridge mono mode @ 4 ohms) of crystal-clean power without generating a lot of heat in your rack. The PLX1202 features PowerWave technology for bigger bass, cleaner highs, and greater reliability; and Advanced Thermal Management for lower temps with variable-speed fan and precision-fitted heat shroud. Stereo: 200W @ 8 ohms, 325W @ 4 ohms, 600W @ 2 ohms. Mono bridged: 400W @ 16 ohms, 700W @ 8 ohms, 1,200W @ 4 ohms. Less than .01% distortion. 19. Haha! I'll have look sometime. There are only two 'Jaffas' on the Shuker website gallery so I guess I have your old bass.
