  1. Genuinely under-appreciation The Blue Nile Kate Bush The The Public Enemy New Order
  2. Bands I really like from genres I don’t often listen too: Black Crowes Stone Temple Pilots Niki and the Dove Afghan Whigs Idles
  3. Unpopular on a Bass site: Rush, they really were the sh*ts, the REO Speedwagon of PROG Nonsense Kiss , pantomime rubbish from deeply unlikeable people Mudvayne(?) apparently been around for 20 years only heard them a few months back. It’s like they merged the 2 bands listed above😂😂😂
  4. Hoping to see Idles in November They are way to heavy for me but I really like the lyrics and general vibe

    Chorus & Octaver

OC-2 if if you can’t find one maybe Ashdown Sub Harmonic I don’t know anything regarding digital octaves Chorus I quite like Tech21 Bass Boost Chorus versatility /options aplenty there
  6. I very much like the old ABM cabinets. Still going strong. The ABM 1510HX is my favorite. Once again they are not for everyone and certainly couldn’t be described as “Hi-Fi” but for me they work good. I had a ABM115 blue speaker (Italy?) as well that was a bit “brighter”
  7. I have had no issue with Ashdown gear aside from wear and tear / basic maintenance. Obviously will get a Tubes bill at some point for the CTM-300 When I have contacted them they always reply promptly when given my location they could choose to ignore me😂😂
  8. The CTM EQ is somewhat quirky but has become my favorite. Magnificent with Passive Bass /Flatwound strings I don’t think the CTM is for everyone but for me it’s the bees knees I still use my 98 ABM Klystrom as well.
  9. GHS Precision Flats are IMO closer to LaBella. ( than Rotosound and Daddario Chromes) I use the 105 E set GHS on a Fretless Jazz and a Tobias. Very smooth strings and great balance across the range.
  10. I have all The Bassist UK magazines from the 1990’s - 2000’s I have found them very useful over the years/decades Also like the written content was a different flavor to US Bass Player mag
  11. L2 Steinberger fretted no dead spots. Entire range is balanced
  12. Yep C# on the G string Fretless Fender Jazz Fretless MusicMan Stingray is pretty good just need to be mindful of string to string balance EQ
  13. Random question but what’s the earliest Ashdown ABM anyone here owns?
  14. Big fan of the Diamond BCP with a Passive, flatwound strung bass The onboard Peavey Compression I had decades back wasn’t very good
  15. @Linus27 what strings on on the Fretless?
  16. Was that the B stock CTM? I bought the CTM-300 a few years ago and it is my favourite amplifier
  17. I quite like that album she did some Prince stuff too ”Everybody Got Their Something” I transcribed for students both reading and plectrum practice.
  18. This is the go at the moment Free The Tone OD Diamond Comp Tech 21 Chorus Wounded Paw Battering Ram 2.6 Dreadbox (Comp Drive Filter) Korg Tuner Ashdown Sub Octave 3Leaf Filter Boss PEQ Boss Flanger Sadowsky Pre/DI
  19. Original Stingray shipped with Flats on I Play a 2EQ Fretless Stingray with Chromes (105 E) smoother than a baby’s bottom
  20. Passive Precision 0 Tone Passive Jazz 0 Tone Passive Jazz Fretless 30% Tone L2 Steinberger Active 0 Tone
  21. L2 Steinberger Very black
  22. Like the scratch plate and controls on the white one
  23. L2 Steinberger- LaBella double ball are very nice. Really should have done this years back. Very smooth I have ordered another style of LaBella Flats for my old Jazz
