  1. I got 18 years out of a set of Chromes on the Precision Current set is 16 years
  2. I like the Sadowksy Pre. I have been using one since the 1990's , a fantastic piece of kit. - passive bass it can add heft - with my MTD it's a smooth and "body" thing As per Luke FRC comment, it is a tone thing Recently I have also purchased a SGFX Beta V . This is excellent for Passive Bass to SS Amp for adding grit and depth not fuzz and brittle. It is a cool pedal.

  4. yeah it is an interesting one given the original buyer did not not know what s/he was purchasing adds to the conundrum it would be of benefit to know what pick ups are presently fitted The VB 5 the seller also has on offer was made in 04/07 btw

I've got some keyboard parts to put down for the new album and quite enjoying the Crowther Prunes and Custard filter. On Bass Guitar the SGFX Bi-Filter with a VCA type Compressor in front of it was the go.

  8. I think it's important too not get worked up about what other Musicians do musically I'm not sure who you are talking about but if s/he is having fun playing a musical instrument it's probably a good thing compared to what they could be doing. My Generation had ridiculous nonsense like "Super Chops for Bass" and the "World's Fastest Tapper" but if that their is thing I say go for it!!
  9. I think the Stingray Classic is the only 5’er with the 2EQ set up (?). also scarce numbers

SGFX have some B stock Supa Funk filters available It’s probably my favourite filter. I run a VCA compression in front of it oh funky honk
  11. I like the Blue with the black pick guard. Nice one
  12. Dreadbox Kinematic, an interesting pedal (despite not being on my board presently) VCA type compression is good Filter is very good Drive is more a fuzz imo and is too fizzy for my taste worth a look I feel
  13. I liked the old Brown Boss Bass one as well.
  14. I hope these instruments do not become Floatsam and Jetsam
