  1. I’m unlikely to be able to replace my L2 Steinberger in fact it’s in my will so the kids / grandkids know to pay attention
  2. It has been well looked after - nice one
  3. Yamaha P Bass (MIT) possibly 1986 * Ibanez Roadster V* Hohner B2A * Steinberger L2 Vester Bubinga Spector copy which I converted to fretless Stingray style* 1971 Jazz Guild Pilot V reissue DeArmond * 1989 Fretless Jazz Fender Longhorn* 1976 Precision 2005 Tobias Growler Arkansas* 1996 Tobias Growler Nashville* 2EQ Stingray Fretless unlined 2002 Warwick Fortress Flashback 5 2004 USA Stingray Sub 5
  4. All these sold in NZ? was the Sub a 4 or 5 stringer ?
  5. In 1988/89 I had a Hohner B2A, was well made I also had a try on a Hohner Jack which I thought was well made if a bit vague in the electronics department well done you - instrument looks great
  6. looks like Roddy Piper
  7. Advert from c.1980
  8. Apparently they are marvellous . A cast over here in NZ has one, he loves it. As far as I can tell it's a great piece of kit for people who don't use an amplifier
  9. Simplifier is simply the wrong name for that piece of kit
  10. Careless Whisper Saxophone run is A Phrygian Modes - Diatonic Harmony - compulsory learning for me
  11. Unlined for me previously had a lined (defret) aesthetic / vanity unlined is best , looks cooler
  12. I use compression and a very light overdrive with my 2EQ Fretless Stingray for Blues and Walking lines. I like the original attack and bloom
  13. looks sleek as apparently there was one here in Christchurch mid 1990's at CJ Charlie Jemmet's store Steve(Kiwi) got to play it I remember reading a Cass Lewis (TTD - Skunk) interview he liked the Cutlass
  14. So I thought a Cutlass was a graphite neck Stingray and a Caprice was the EBMM version of a Precision... My Sub 5 is heading to the luthier's on 10/01 as I don't like the 10th fret at all. The neck however is good so assuming this "fret level" is not problematic I expect it'll be a good purchase.
  15. Boss OC-2 Boss PQ-3B Boss BF-2B Diamond BCP Sadowsky Pre Amp all old, all great
  16. I used D'Addario half wounds for probably 20 years they are very sticky when new I don't use them anymore - flats only for me - Halfs are probably an individual feel thing they were good for calming down very bright basses
  17. The late Aaron Tokona
  18. Jerry Jemmott Anthony Jackson Peter Hook Paul Chambers Prince
  19. Fretless is fun. I wouldn’t be without one, in fact I would quite like a Fretless 5
  20. Free The Tone Silky Compressor VCA type. Best I’ve used
  21. Ashdown CTM-300 into a Ashdown 1510H
  22. 2 Stingrays
