  1. Agree 100%. There’s no excuse these days with the likes of Sandberg Electra, MTD Kingston, Xotic ProVintage, Dingwall Combustion/NG all coming out of Far Eastern factories without any of these issues. Not to mention more affordable brands such as the likes of Ibanez and Cort, who consistently churn out astonishingly good instruments for the money. Granted, Sandbergs and Dingwall Combustions/NGs are sent back to their German/Canadian shops for final setup and inspection. One would think Roger Sadowsky might go down the same route considering how synonymous his brand is with quality. This becomes especially true if he’s unable to visit the factory in person at present! Instead we have a product which might do more harm to the brand than good if there are indeed several early run instruments with QC issues. If one YouTube reviewer has managed to get a dodgy one you can bet there are others out there, ready to be snapped up by other unsuspecting players of the Lemon Lottery.
  2. Almost half price? Yeah probably, if I were actually in the market for a Fallout that is. Given that Fender are churning out great (albeit Mexican manufactured) short scale basses for under £1k, similar money for a USA G&L feels like a nice deal. The usual price of £1750 is just too steep in my opinion.
  3. The Tributes are well-made enough that the law of diminishing returns comes into play swiftly and steeply!
  4. Have to agree with @Machines on this one. Brand identity is everything, and a logo is a huge part of that. Not many people here are suspecting the basses themselves will be poor. There are a ton of people who are put off Sire basses - in spite of their generally positive reputation - because of the look of the headstock.
  5. In all seriousness, I can’t understand how Roger Sadowsky has approved that mismatched combination of logos and said to himself, “yep, that totally represents Sadowsky quality in an import series of instruments.” What the hell
  6. Decent price on a Gruv Gear Kapsule here. I’d be tempted if I had a chance of needing to use it any time soon, but alas! https://kytary.co.uk/gruvgear-kapsule-for-e-bass/HN208575/
  7. I just sold my Dingwall Super P5 to Jo. It was a very positive experience from start to finish. Great communication, prompt payment, lots of patience on his end and he even arranged the shipping as I was reluctant to courier the bass. Everything turned out great. I’ll happily do business with Jo again!
  8. I’ve been intrigued by these for a while too. Anyone got one??
  9. Well Line 6 have been good to us thus far, and a few of the Yamaha/L6 management and dev team are bassists so I’m sure there will be more for us at some point in the future. Meanwhile, love this section in the changelog for 3.0:
  10. Good luck with the bass specific amps/effects on the Boss it has almost nothing for us low-enders. Helix already smokes it in that department, even without any new models in this update!
  11. A conversation. Me: “I play bass” Anyone who doesn’t play bass: “SLAPPA DA BASS!!”
  12. If I were still using traditional amps I’d be all over these. Same finish as my old TKS 1126 which was a phenomenal cab. Bargain price too. GLWTS!
  13. True, there was quite a lot of fret buzz going on there. I like a bit of rasp but at times it was a bit beyond what I would call tasteful!
  14. Am I the only one who isn’t a fan of the new logo on the headstocks?
  15. Ah! Well I’m just as glad to hear the 735a is back in the fold. I was recently rather tempted to buy another one. Then I saw the Xotic and that plan went out the window Would definitely own another though. Phenomenal basses at any price point.
