I paid. It came. It was just fabulous.
3. That Jazz is WELL fit. However, I need another bass like I need a hole in the head.

Understated quality. Now there's something you don't see everyday, more's the pity.
5.
Heathens ! That bass shouldn't be dismembered!!
Pending payment this is leaving the building in one piece
6.
There are very tiny trim pots on the pre-amp PCB that adjusts the sweep on each of the tone pots. Not sure if you can adjust the impedence with a trim pot though? - Shoot a mail off to Dave Meadows at Audere - he's very helpful
Thanks. Hmmm........ I might re voice it then I doubt Dave is going to tell me the secret of his variable Z switch as all I want to do (when I say I, I mean a friend who can actually use a soldering iron without smelling burning flesh) is bodge up a switch which will do the same thing.
7. I have an Audere pre which is not voiced correctly for what I want it to do with a specific pick up (no fault of the pre-amp, it is a nice bit of kit) but I LOVE what the Low Z switch does. Is there any other way of getting this particular attribute going? Thanks Owen
8. Bump for change in capital liquidation strategy.
9. I will leave this up for a couple of days before parting it out. If anyone is interested in it as a job lot, now is the time to act
10. You and your wife play bass. GAS x 2. Wow!
11. Is this still here for £650? Bonkers! If you want a big, powerful rig for frankly peanuts then here it is.
12. You know, people bang on about EMGs being sterile and all that. They are not. I did a job recently and the engineer is a bit of a geek for kit and he recorded my bass and then looked at it and said "I thought that EMGs were brittle etc etc etc. Those sounded really warm and well defined" £50? Bargain.
13. are these new and the standard six string set from sheldon? Yes if so I will have both please, call it £35? That sounds like a deal Shall we take this to PM?
14. 2 sets of 6 string sets. £18 each delivered. They will work on basses which are not Dingwall 30 - 45 -etc - 130 Trade for a set of 5 string Labella plastic tapewounds - yes I know, from one extreme to the other
15. If this was a 5 I would be in real trouble.
16.
If only this was a four string. It's bloody gorgeous and must sound amazing but I just cant get along with fivers.
I could saw a bit off
17. Piezos are brilliant IF you have the right pre-amp for them. Otherwise they are a TOTAL waste of time. Piezos in a MM Bongo = pants Piezos in a Bolin NS5 = totally lush
18. I played this exact combination at a gig before the summer. It was lush beyond and MAHOOOOOSIVELY loud. This is a bargain.
19.
I'm being thick here!?!?! So you got a hunk of wood and carved the body yourself???
The body was made by a local luthier who did all the technical stuff and then I did the grunt sanding work I have my eyes on another bass now and will send this to your door for £550
20.
Oh.... So what bass did the body come from lol. Because it looks fantastic.
<sigh> Quote from 1st post - "A long time ago I bought a Stingray 5 (on a 4 hour detour on my honeymoon. How my new wife laughed!). I then bought a MM fretless neck for it. I then made a template from the body (ash + luscious birds eye maple 1/4" cap with a subtle rosewood veneer coachline between both) and bolted the the fretless neck to that and flogged the original Ray 5." In case anyone thinks that I am getting arsey here, I know Mr 252 very well
21. The only "proper" bit the neckplate
22. The reality is that I would love £650, but it is such an odball to price that I just don't know if that would fly. I was honestly expecting to part it out, and that is kind of about what it would come to. If someone wants to give me £650 then I would be happy to ship it to their door. I am in Bangor, North Wales.
23. It's not SUPER cheap, but the prices of 2nd hand stuff are still comparable with 2nd hand stuff here, so it is finding what I want really.
24. I'm looking at some US based basses. I used to be able to get stuff in for approx $120 actual shipping. Quotes are coming up at $500 - $600 at the moment. Does anyone have any lines on decent cheaper couriers? I am au fait with the whole tax/import thing. TIA
