Went to wife's friends place last nite. Dude showed me some recordings of Manu Katché's 'one shot not'. Essentially a better version of Later with Jools but without the boogie woogie piano and added bonus of rehearsals like this with Pino, Manu and Dominic Miller. The range of skills and the complete range of music that Pino can play is probably without equal in the bass world. Truely multidimensional.
They've gone Did anyone rip them?
 2. To avoid any confusion, I'm guessing that 8ohm bridged gives 400w mono output, not per channel. It will run 400w into one cab at 8ohms. Any more and it will fry itself and the magic smoke will come out.
 3.
I wish I could help you there.
You are in denial! (Or more likely you have the self control I so sadly lack!)
 4.
I'm actually doing this myself. I bought a bass cheap off the bay for about £100. The table and neck are off at this stage. I'm trying to source hide glue, cleats and someone to make a steel insert for the neck attachement. It hasn't been easy but for the price of the bass it's a great education. You can follow it here. Another alternative is getting a part assembled (white) one from a dealer in China. That would make it much easier to sort out your method of neck attchement. There is also a load of info on TB if you dig around. My methods probably make luthiers cringe but, hey, how do you learn? If it all works in the end then fantastic. If it doesn't, then I'm out £100.
I like your style! Consider me subscribed

 6.
I Don't know why but I keep just coming back to look at this bass.
I know why. You know why. Want it you know you do.
 7. A "in no real hurry, it will go when it goes" bump.
 8.
Gail has areally good solo album: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_w_h_?u...p;x=18&y=28 Great playing and a cracking voice.
Gail actually has 2 solo albums from the olden days. Perhaps more by now, I have not been keeping up.
 9.
A 5 string 60's Jazz would be tempting though
I could sell everything then! I even asked Bravewood to make me one. He said no

 11. I dropped my Double Bass because my carrying strap broke. It cost the insurance company £2K. It was nasty.
 12.
Blimey mate you've done well to get that in (inc taxes) so cheap. Good luck and I'm intrigued to know what the mystery bass is likely to be.
I took it without a case and shipped with the neck off so that reduced shipping considerably. The next bass is, ummmmmm............
 13. This is an odd one, in that I have not even received it yet (just cleared customs), but something else has come up and I need to liquidate some capital. Lakland Skyline with Audere pre as in pics. You can have it as it is in the pics OR you can have it with a rosewood board. I have a spare Lak JO5 R/W neck in store waiting for the right occasion Whichever neck does not go will be available as a bare neck (no hardware on it) when this goes. The thread on TB where I got it is here http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=490375 It comes with the pick up cover and iirc a black and a white scratchplate. I am in it for £880 and am looking for that. No trades. Obv, want it you know you do

 15. I have no commercial interest here. If you want lorry loads of clean professional (stable, quiet and full range with more headroom than a Cathederal) power, here it is. 5Kw into 4 Ohms bridged, 2.5K stereo into 2 Ohms 1.5Kw stereo into 4 Ohms and 900w stereo into 8 Ohms. I used to run the A3000 as a power amp. HUGE reserves of power are where it's at people. Pro power amp control your speakers in a way that will make you go "why did no one tell me that before?". It's where the tone is. I do not know this seller, but I do know Chevin amps. These are in the same league as the big Crown amps.
 16.
Looks like there's several different configurations of this - do you know which one it is? http://www.audereaudio.com/Scripts/prodList.asp?idCategory=6 Was it bought to fit a specific bass?
It was bought second hand on here. It has 4 pots 1. Vol 2. Balance 3. Treble + hi mid 4 Low mid + Bass Switch for low Z mode (which is fab!) HTH
 17. The Audere is here http://www.audereaudio.com/3ZB.htm It is a 4 band on 2 x dual pots + Balance + volume + Low Z switch. The Sadowsky is the footpedal model with DI and mute switch. I have a feeling that it is too cheap, but it is what I paid for it here Here it is http://www.sadowsky.com/audio/index.html Cheers, Owen
 18.
daft Q time, is the Audere the Jazz bass replacement unit ? Ta #
I'm afraid that it is not.
 19. Audere 4 band pre - £90 Sadowsky pre in a box with DI - £90 Want both you know you do.
 20.
As for being a total f***ing dude - I'd describe him as a f***ed up junkie who should have been more careful when picking his fights.
Sensitively and tastefully put.
 21.
Huntington's Disease? He is the smelly cushion humpers, pup gravy containers.
The dog's bollocks in Welsh. Always a handy phrase, but be careful with the "ll", people could get hurt.
