1. Well done! Sounds like a good start. Has your band got any clips to download yet?
 2. Welcome Bassforradio. Which Steiny have you got?
 3.
You're excused
Thanks. It was getting tiresome. From your tone it looks like I have upset you so don't worry, I wont bothering you again. The Beatles were a "great little band". For most people, whether at the time or in later years, they brought cheer. I'm glad I'm in that majority. There are enough things in life to cause unhappiness. Adding entertainers and the folk that like them to the list seems a bit unnecessary but of course, that is just my opinion.
 4.
This doesn't surprise me - based entirely on this....... Hey Blue!! The "Dr" is chasing after your Sweeping Flashing BS Over-statement Of The Year crown.
Pardon me for saying but I think you've just collected that one yourself. Why are fellow members being targetted? Is this not an adult discussion?
 5. Thanks Bluejay. See you there with my sweaty paper tenner. Next year the plastic bank notes should be slightly more hygienic.
 6.
I've created a summary document along the lines of the ones we use for the other bashes. Downloadable and shareable here: https://goo.gl/ECCGWj Let me know if it doesn't work. (Roger has been able to open and download it without problems, but your devices may vary...) See you all there!
Too many snags. Is it an important document? If not I'll pass and just turn up.
 7.
A wah pedal or "bass drum" type effect for an acoustic soloist that produces the electricity to power itself. A bit of a re hash of the dynamo powered bicycle light?
You've put me in mind of that silly bicycle that Mark Ronson rode around in a music video a couple of years ago. For an HNC project though, I'd say it's got legs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVELTxKRoHA
 8.
And I believe Beatlemania hit us Yanks differently than you guys. Because of size we had more TV, radio, magazines and concert venues as well. To me they were bigger than life. Blue
That there is a difference in perception between both sides of the Atlantic is as understandable as there being a difference of perception with the benefit of hindsight as Skankdelvar pointed out very well. Me? I love almost everything I've heard by the Beatles and the four excellent solo artists that survived. I gave them a score of four out of four for that. I'll have the new release on Blu Ray thanks. Have it unwrapped and sent to my room.
 9.
Indeed so. It would be entirely feasible for the American government to designate an area of Arizona desert as a British Celebrity 'Boneyard' rather like the Davis-Monthan Air Foce Base, resting place for several thousand obsolete aircraft.
I suppose then we'd have to keep Madge?
 10.
It's strange how the American people knocked back comedy giants like Morecambe and Wise yet have taken appalling, malodorous sub-humans like Ricky Gervais, Russell Brand and James Corden unto their collective bosom there to be rewarded with largesse and adulation.
Please don't forget old ginger nuts herself, Anne Robinson. That the Americans lurve (sic) these "celebrities" is fine, the problem is when they eventually send them back to us. We really ought to have a no returns policy for this sort of thing.
 11.

Thanks. A refreshing clip. I keep forgetting there's a piccolo bass. It's just the same as the four lower pitched strings on a guitar innit?
 12. Welcome SpcMnk. Nice of you to join in.
 13. Methinks the old saying "Never mind the quality, feel the width" can be applied outside of the rag trade too. Jaco was supposed to have been able to hear a tonal difference in strings that were of different colours. Who am I to argue?
 14. This thread got me thinking and I realized that it is 29 years since I played to an audience, rigged a PA or anything other than self gratification at home. I have time to have a proper go these days but getting a jam isn't easy let alone being part of a band. I was sorely disappointed earlier this year by a band who led me up the garden path, so to speak. Never mind eh? I'm still up for it. As my eyesight gets worse my ear gets better so barring arthritic or mental problems I intend to play (even if it is only to our cat) for many years to come.
 15.
It is with great regret and sorrow that I inform you that I will be experiencing yet another birthday right soon. <snip> And it all started 29 years ago.
Cheers! Here's to the next 29!
 16.
...price agreed and day agreed and then a email informing on the day of sale to say he was not going to buy. In my world if you get this far into a sale then it's a given you honour this but perhaps I am just old school ;-)
Not old school. Merely an honourable man. Honour is worth even more these days as selfishness is now "a lifestyle choice", innit.
 17. Welcome Goz. "Have a laugh"? Here?!? Hahahahahahaha, kidding.
 18. I'm still laffing at the "artist formally known as mince" quip above. Yes, I was thinking something similar. He has a new album out however. Edwin Collins managed a comeback of sorts from a nasty stroke. I wish Meat all the best on his. I'm having the new release as soon as it hits the CD shelf at snailsberries.
 19.
Yep this was how I took it.
I'm not trying to be funny. I get the "implied" thing but a deal has to have the agreement of both parties not just one. In person, a handshake is the time honoured method to seal the deal. Verbally by 'phone, I'd have made certain it was understood that a deal had been reached before I'd arrange travel. At least that way you have unquestionable justification for complaint. Did that not occur?
 20. Hairy cabs, depilation of the under satchel, repackaging of anal protuberences and cat vomit. That's made my weekend chaps. Thanks.
 21.
Was his fave dish Meatloaf?
Rib eye steak. Food hell is cod - "because it is so bland". I'm hanging in for the interview at the counter with the Hairy Bikers.
 22. Just turned onto BBC1 and there he is large and live. He looks like he's been through it though. Didn't someone report he'd been very ill recently?
