  1. This makes me wish I hadn't stopped collecting issues of Practical Wireless back in the day. When puberty struck I became interested more in 'bikes, romance and Rock & Roll - in that precise order. You've made an excellent thread made better by having all those images in your last post but one. With the commentary already covered in earlier posts your photos speak for themselves. I like that you are tempted to gig it already, yet cautious enough to break it in during rehearsals. May it serve you well brother.
  2. GLWTS. I think I know which one you're definitely keeping from our chat early in the year...
  3. I'm wondering if you'd like your big rack* back? *[Stifled chortle]
  4. Sorry Rob. That wasn't me. I'd help if I could. I haven't been to a SW Bash (yet). Nor do I use a smart "'phone". Perhaps you could find said member on the SW Bash thread by re-posting there? Good hunting.
  5. Granted. I'm just saying it's not a major issue.
  6. It allows the reader to savour the content. Like a good wine, posts should have room to breathe. The edited by line is in bold type and draws the eye away from the content by being too close. Heeheehee. It's a minor annoyance. It's easy enough to add extra space at the time of posting.
  7. I usually do that too. Good call.
  8. Has it got preamp and tuner built in?
  9. They were great weren't they? You'd get a really phat sound out of them without even trying.
  10. If you are talking about real music, I agree. If you are talking about pop however...
  11. Fair enough. Can we see it lit up in the dark please? I'd love to be able to smell it at running temperature too but a photo would suffice.
  12. Surveys huh! What are they good for? Marketing 'bots, that's what. And they say the BBC is non commercial. Cuh! Actually that looks like a fair balance. I wonder what the remaining one percent wanted though? More coverage of polo for the horsey set? More egg blowing competitions for hipsters? A new channel called BBCs and GILFs?
  13. Sky Arts 23:00 - 00:20 Tonight Thursday 16th Oct 2025 Ian Dury and the Blockheads... Hold on to your Structure. "The Blockheads perform live from the Hammersmith Odeon in 1985"
  14. There is no harm in asking. It's a matter of how much of your time you want to spend pursuing it. If he doesn't respond favourably then at least you've tried. It's probably not worth twenty knicker to make a bigger thing out of it. Depends on how hungry the kids are, I suppose. One thing is certain. You can't give it back for a refund. It was your choice to go ahead with the project having asked for advice about it here. I don't think I'd waste time other than to mark the seller's card in some fashion. That way you know to be cautious if he crops up again with something you like.
  15. Man that looks geeky. In a good way, you understand. It's beautifully uncomplicated in appearance. I bet it looks good with all the valves warmed up and the lights down. Why do you need a top handle? It's asking for the whole unit to be mishandled if you aren't there. Side handles would mean a two handed lift which is less likely to result in knocks or worse. Just a feeling you understand, I'd feel safer. Plus, you'd get to keep a nice clean top on it. Great build thread. Thanks for sharing.
  16. I will be travelling light. Probably just the Ray34, my YamaCore bitsa, a Zoom B3 and a small combo. Let's keep it in mind and decide fully nearer the time. Cheers!
  17. Depending on the amount of gear involved, are you interested in a ride share? My car or yours, mine's a five door Corolla. PM me if so.
  18. Do I get a horse to go with the promotion Your Majesticness? I'll settle for a Moto Guzzi V100 if you need to save on stable fees...
  19. We have the Enoch Stone. It is a memorial to a disabled man of that name who was fatally attacked on his way home to Spondon from Derby in 1856. They call these markers Murder Stones. They are laid where the tragedies occurred. I haven't used it as a stage name but I was going to write a song about him for a local producer before the deal fell through. By then I had done some research about the 49 year old framework knitter and musician. It is an interesting case that was never solved. It would be nice as a respectful nod to a disabled family man who was a musician for someone to adopt it. Maybe I will one day. I'd just go by Enoch and my band would be called The Murder Stones. The Murder of Enoch Stone.
  20. I admire your tenacity. This makes it a more interesting project too.
  21. The embossed legend is enough to put most folk off anyway. It's a cheap and nasty Steiny rip-off. That's going by the number of users that I have read criticising it.
