  1. It probably makes corporate sense in some way that would not be immediately obvious. It puts me in mind of our local Toyota factory. They'd send whole cars to Sims metal yard for secure destruction. These would be development test cars and such. Although he was not allowed to get near them, my mate Jack was told by the yard supervisor that some of the cars had nothing wrong with them. Some had less than 10,000 miles on them and looked as new. They all got crushed.
  2. Welcome to Basschat. What an impressive first post! Now that you've got that off your chest, what's your rig like? You can tell us all about it in the Introductions* section. *Shoulder born chips are optional.
  3. I find the comments here are interesting because I have an Ashdown Toneman 300 with its fifteen inch cone sat on top of a Trace Elliot 18 inch extension cab. I have ONLY ever used this rig in practice at home. I have no tweeters and I use flats for the most part. I turn down the treble and boost the upper mids to get the sound (and feel) that I like best. Then I play to stereo tracks through two Carlsbro Marlin PA150s each with a 200W Celestion wedge. I do not honestly know how good (or bad) it would perform at gig volumes and in a decent space. In my small practice room/workshop it is barely ever above "idling speed" but it makes the tools shake in their hangers on the wall. I like it.
  4. Is that an eighteen on top? Nice.
  5. Welcome Franchement.
  6. Welcome Javi.
  7. I think you're the only one who's going to notice just from looking at your photos. If you scuff the shiny surface of the ferrules it might look more unsightly despite being "flush". As has been pointed out by Durhamboy, you will create a slight indentation in an otherwise flat surface to add to your frustration. It wont be truly flush however unless you reseat the ferrules at the correct depth. It looks grand as is from what I can see.
  8. Oh they were so much more than that.
  9. Welcome Twentyfifthjune.
  10. It's a right stitch-up and no mistake. Well done.
  11. Welcome Shadven.
  12. If it's a second, I'll happily take it off your hands Christine.
  13. Good man! You were there when it counted. All the best.
  14. Welcome Tazzz.
  15. I especially like how the swift seems to follow the grain pattern.
  16. (Replied on the other topic by the same name.)
  17. Welcome Chris. I have the 605. It has two humbuckers as opposed to a J and a P pickup. It's got a great neck so I am confident that you will be comfortable with yours.
  18. Were the screws bought as items in themselves or were they bundled with some other purchase?
