1. (ref the Partridge bit - that's Music for Chameleons by Gary Numan) The Numan fans all remember Pino very well indeed, he recorded in 1982 with Gary before he did the Paul Young stuff so we were all indoctrinated with that special style of his. It's been great seeing him go as far as he has. Nevermind all that... MICK! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W14YmRABFFg
2. Cannot listen to this tune without the Macc Lads' words entering my head.
3.
Can't rely understand how anyone can complain about it!

Please note: I am not criticising or complaining, just stating my personal reaction
Balance restored
4. Everything's a 'hack' these days, I think we're just getting old and been there, done that Have you noticed the trend now to clip the videos up? They delete the unnecessary frames, probably keeps interest and packs more into a shorter time for people with shorter attention spans. Both Janek and Scott have been doing it a while - now Mark Smith's doing it too. Btw, I have been enjoying his cruise vids these past few days.
5. Sounds good - will sit back until a few have been submitted but definitely going to have to get out of my comfort zone and submit something!
6.
I'm wondering if this is to do with Chrome no longer being supported in XP? If so anyone know of a simple fix?
I shall steer clear of advising you to upgrade a 15+ year old operating system. Oops, too late. Just don't do any online transactions or banking. However, have you tried installing Firefox? Might be worth a shot.
7. Owned a Boss RC30 for about 3 weeks, sold it on because I just didn't get along with it. Built-in drum patterns (only 10) were dreadful - and that's not me being picky. I think I'd get something cheaper next time if I did it again, or start with something 2nd hand to work out if you like looping and then go for something fancy if you're hooked.
8. I now won't pick the bass up after handling garlic or onions. I've done it, washed my hands, even scrubbed with lemon juice, it still gets in the strings.
9. So close and yet so far, hey? Dang. Yeah you were coherent on the Sunday, and I was surprised you recognised me without the wig & aviators Anyway, massive thread drift, apologies, where were we...yes, little red cabs. Mmm.
10. Dood - I said hello late on the Sunday at the LBGS - it's a shame you're all that way down there or I'd have stuck the kettle on a-la petergales (Peter, thank you, I'll be in touch). On the other hand, if Wymondham is your town then you're super near one of my favourite places on the planet and I'm a tad jealous - Hethel. Birthplace of my little plastic car.
11. Pete, you could be on there - I tend to get into Leeds a fair bit - that's a mighty fine offer, thank you, I'll PM. Danuman - that's interesting. The guy who sold me the WTX500 sold it for that reason - just didn't quite make the Eden 4x10 thump enough. This could get more expensive that I'd anticipated (said everyone on this forum at some point).
12. Peter, thanks for that. I quizzed Mark V at the London show and asked if I should get a 2x10 to go with the 12 but he said he'd advise a second 112 because it moves the same amount of air and that's what he has at home. Now who am I to argue with the bloke who makes the damn things? I just forgot to ask what the difference would be like. Btw, I see Aguilar in your sig - what's powering your Vanderkleys (madam!) because I did like the 20 minute session I had on a TH500 at PMT once.
13. I have a question - what's it like when you double up and add another? I've got an Eden WTX500 (280W @ 8ohm / 500W @ 4ohm) - do you get a right old thick thump out of it when you hook the 2nd cab in? I do already love the sound, the clarity is what made me choose the 112MNT.
14. I had a chat with ped and found he strung sentences together with aplomb. We had something similar in our car club. Someone came along to a meeting, didn't get the response they were expecting and they drove off and left feedback on the forum. We turned it around and now he's one of the more vocal and welcoming members of the club. Billy Apple - you auditioning to be the next MONONEON?
15. I've not figured this out properly but something like... Split the area into 4 quadrants. Each quadrant has only one loud stand for x minutes and the stands within the quadrant take it in turns. Therefore, the whole place only has a max of 4 loud stands and they should be a reasonable distance apart. Also, there'll be less waiting time. This goes belly-up if you've got one stand next to another in a different quadrant but if the organisers arrange the displays so that the edges are non-sound stands then it should be close. I realise organising this would be a headache....making sure there's a similar amount of sound-enabled stands and whatnot but might be better than when I was stood near The Epicentre of Din. That said, still had a good laugh and it was really good to meet the other bcers. Took a wrong tube and ended up at Edgeware from Kensington High St. No tube back, had to bus it to King's X.
16. I bumped into and briefly chatted with Paul Turner in the knitting exhibition foyer.
17.
There are bucketloads of electronic artists I like, yet which few people have heard of (but that comes with the territory!).
I'm going to try my luck with Imatran Voima and also Si Begg. If you've heard of either, I doff my cap. If you haven't, give 'em a go.
18. I don't yet play in a band but I love using Ableton Live - it makes me think about the music as a whole. I also have a Novation Circuit - you have to play that 'live' to get the best out of it and it definitely helps you to knock up a tune easily. If you like electronic stuff, have you listened to Si Begg? He's off the scale for me - must take him ages to record the noises, mess about with them and then build a track that doesn't have any signs of lazy programming.
19. Chris, I know that one email address can have multiple purposes on a Google (and therefore YouTube) account. I know very little about YouTube, but this sounds more like an account thing. How you get at that I couldn't say, but they do often explain things quite well if you get hold of them.
20. Just in case the support doesn't work out, Scarlett 2i4 2nd gen - the latency blows the 1st gen out of the water (real world test on the same PC).
21. Chris, you need a web presence and get some videos uploaded to Facebook - I've struggled to find anything yet you have a fairly unique name. Not touting for business, just a bit of advice for your advertising.
22. The thing for me is a lot of our friends have no massive interest in anything that's not in / been in the charts. Also, growing older, you mention Gary Numan to a lot of folk under 30 and they've no idea, you have to mention tracks that feature his samples. So, to that end I'm not posting massively obscure to those of us in here but stuff that draws a blank with the muggles tends to be stuff like... Logic System (Hideki Matsutake of Yellow Magic Orchestra) John Foxx (I get blank looks so have to sing "Aaahh Viennaaah" and then proceed to explain there was a vocalist before Midge Ure) Our Daughter's Wedding (remember Lawnchairs?) LFO (the Leeds outfit)
23. Btw, the 9.5lbs thing in the title was just a newborn thing, I've not actually weighed it but it's not heavy. Thanks for the tips - didn't think about no. of winds but it's 2 or 3 winds on all strings. I'm not able to feel any difference between the strings on my Cort which are 45 - 105. I might ring PMT, see if they'll chuck me a set of heavier strings instead of faffing about with it. If it still does it, they can sort it.
lovely looking Cort as well. How good is it?
It's great, I have a love / hate thing with it though. The electronics boost the EQ into a driven sound if you crank the mids and the bass. Some might like this but it's not like a pedal drive, it's more farty. But then it's really capable of some great tones and wide-ranging too. The finish on these spalted maple ones is impressive and it doesn't nose dive. More love than hate - I just don't like the way I have to dial a bad noise out, I'd like to crank it and not think. There's GisserD on here who I think doesn't have this issue with his 5-string (I think it's him, someone replied in my thread from a few months ago anyway).
be sure to wind the string down the way instead of up.
Could you explain this... not following or just overthinking it.
24. Bit late to the Fender party for me and it's the first time I've experienced nose dive but I'm loving the tone & playability of this thing. A lot. The open A buzzes a bit at the nut when you play medium+ attack and I do. It stops when you press on the nut and only happens on that string and only open. Is it possible that the thing needs to settle down a bit? Brand new out of the box from PMT Leeds yesterday, haven't had time to post til now as it was NBD x 2 yesterday.... new boiler. I mean the water heating variety, I've not swapped to a new Mrs T, this one lets me buy bass things
