1. Hi guys and girls! The DOA 2009 Bass is nearly finished, they are taking orders up until 15th March 2009. Once this date passes they will not take anymore orders and the Basses will be produced. They are only making to order so as you can tell, this will be a limited edition. Picture below of the Prototype and also a link to the Dean thread where you can place your order if you want to. Thanks, Jim. Dean Thread: DEAN DOA BASS THREAD
2.
A precautious bump....this never did sell in the end. Guess my price was a bit too high last time, but I'm starting a new project and need a cash injection (if you will). Theres some more pics here... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=40914 Offers around £550 would be nice.
Argh!!! I want it but I haven't got the money Try and hold off selling for a couple of months!
3. Very nice, I like it a lot. I have one of these (or Ripper/Grabber) on my list to buy for the end of this year. It would be great if you could get some sound clips, any chance? Here are some sound clips of the Grabber: Pickup towards the neck, volume and tone control on 10. 4. Nice JTB, VERY nice! I know I can talk but, that 2*15 looks like it is the heaviest thing since heavy things were invented! I bet it sounded awesome though. Edward, the Probot album is superb isn't it?!
5. Thanks for the word guys. It takes a bit of effort to move it around but once you get the knack of getting it in and out of the van/car, it's not too bad. The volume isn't a problem (believe it or not! ), in the rehearsal room I have the master on about 1 1/2, gigs at about 2 1/2 - 3. The value overdrive tone I can get out of the 400+ is (in my opinion) better than any overdrive pedal I have owned. This rig for me is all in the tone, I love it! I think I might have to start calling it "cloverfield"! Ha ha!
6. Hi guys, I've pretty much finished my rig now and I am very happy with it, I hope you like the picture. The Bass shown is my Gibson Thunderbird, the cabs are 2*10, 1*15 and 6*10. Thanks, Jim.
7. Sorry mate, I went back to Chris and had this one off him too...
8. OBBM all the way mate. I have bought loads off Dave and all have been better than any I've bought from a shop.
9.
Good plan I couldn't believe it when I put it on. For me it would be a problem because I take my left hand off of the bass when playing open notes.
Was it a Gibson Thunderbird or an Epiphone Thunderbird? I have owned an Epiphone and found the neck dive bad until I moved the strap button. I now own a Gibson Thunderbird and it does not have neck dive at all.
10. I don't own one myself but the Dean Demonator is supposed to be really good. It's Deans' version of a Thunderbird and it is supposed to really kick arse. Demonator
11. Stew is a top bloke. Sold him an Eden 8*10 without a hitch. Would have no problems dealing with again, a guy you can trust!!
12. Sorry, I totally forgot to measure this! Doh! I'll do it tonight and post the dimensions tomorrow.
13. Sold some George L's to Higgie, great bloke and no problems.
14.
the one on the outside is a 8amp slow burn fuse i just replaced the one on mine
Where did you buy that from umph?
15.
I take it you like Mesa gear then.
No, I'm more of a Marshall man myself..!
16. I play through a Mesa 400+ with a Mesa 1*15 Powerhouse. I'm adding a Mesa 6*10 Powerhouse and probably a Mesa 2*10 Powerhouse too. My Gibson Thunderbird and Gibson RD Artist played through Mesa gives me "that sound" I've been after for years. So much so, I've sold (or selling) all my pedals which I now don't need! GAS over apart from maybe a new Bass or two....
17. Cheers man, I'll check it out with them.
18. I went to Maplin and had a chat with the guy about this. He sold me some 6.3A Time Delay fuses which he said would work fine. They cost £2.69 for a pack of ten too! TIME DELAY FUSES
19.
Hi, I've just ordered a Dean EAB fretless acoustic bass, which I know only has a strap button located at the bottom. Should I try and use a mega-long strap attached at the rear of the nut, or should I add a new strap button somewhere else - not sure a bout correct terminology, the heel? Has anybody done this? Any ideas welcome Cheers
Hi mate, I've not done this on an acoustic bass but I've moved the strap button on my Dean Z to behind the neck where it meets the body (effectively it faces your stomach). This stoppped the neck dive I had when the button was on the side of the bass. I've also done this before when I had an epiphone thunderbird. As I said, it worked for those but I've not tried it on an acoustic. Cheers, Jim.
20. Hi guys, I want to buy some backup fuses for my Mesa 400+ just in case one goes at a gig. Can anyone tell me where to get one from? On the amp it says "8A Slo Blo" but the fuse inside is a "4A Slo Blo". The acutal fuse says "250V BUSSMDL 4A". I am getting quite confused and I popped into Maplin but they didn't have any 4A Slo Blo fuses. Thanks in advance for any help! Jim.
21. R.I.P. Lefty Steve. Very sad news.
