2. Now withdrawn, thank you to those who messaged me for their interest.
3. bump. Still for sale and price drop to £800
4. Nice one, thanks for the tip! Great bridge though and I'm so pleased I took the plunge
5. I had a look after you posted this and they do stick out slightly but I've never noticed a problem. I must have hard skin on my hand due to the original bridge 😀
6. My mate has a babicz and it is good too. This is perfect for palm muting! I had the same issue as you.
7. I was so pleased I got a chrome one for the SG Bass too.
8. Sounds different in a good way, at lot more "alive" if that makes sense? Piano type tones.
9. Just installed this on my Gibson T-Bird. Solid as a rock and so much better than the stock bridge in how easy it is to adjust string height and intonation! Plugging in now for a practice so it'll be interesting to see tonal changes (if any)....
10. Here is a video demo of the MESA 400. The difference between this and the one I am selling (the 400+) is that the fan speed is on a switch and the 400 has six 6550 power tubes while the 400+ has twelve 6L6 power tubes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OzUTBAC9XE
11. I got this in a trade a couple of months ago with GBH (Geoff) on this forum but just can't get along with a 5 string. I love the bass and the sound but it's that damn extra string that isn't my bag. The neck is amazing and I'm looking for a trade for a Jazz, P or MusicMan with a maple neck/fretboard too if possible? If not then I've put a price for this too. The bass is about 5 years old, custom made to Geoff's specs, slab ash body, (no contours) reasonably light, maple neck, 2 way trussrod, EMG BQC 3 band preamp with sweepable mids, EMG DC P/U at the bridge, EMG P P/U at the neck, medium/ low action (approximately 2 mm) 45mm at the nut and 16.5mm spacing at the bridge. Sounds very jazz like but with huge tonal variations. It comes in a Gear4Music hard gig bag. I'm in North West Kent but can post or meet up somewhere if needed.
12. Still available.
13.
If this is still available when payday comes around at the end of the month (which I'm sure it won't be), I'll snap it right up.
Ok mate, no worries. At this rate it'll still be here!
14. £60 new and this is £50 posted and been out of the box for 5 mins.....
15.
I'm seriously tempted to get a 1U rack mount version with 2 channels!
Sounds awesome! Straight into a poweramp too?
16. Here is my board. Pedaltrain Nano and from right to left: Korg Pitchblack Tuner --> BB Bass Pre Amp (clone) --> DHA VT1-EQ-Bass "custom" --> Aphex Bass Xciter. I then run into a TC Electronics amp with a flat EQ and a use the built in compressor.
17.
VT1 EQ DI MK2 user here. Without a doubt, the best pre-amp DI I've ever used. Tried BDDI, VTDI etc and this is streets ahead. Used it straight into the front end of an amp but prefer into power amp/effects return and DI to FOH - sound guys really like it after initial curiosity??!! Just for kicks, I dropped in an old Mullard ECC82 and it is the cherry on top. Not a massive gain drop over the ECC83 but just seems to have a bit more clarity and warm punch. I'm thinking of getting a power amp to run this into for gigging, about 1000w @ 4ohms - any recommendations regarding input sensitivity etc?
Sounds awesome! I'm going to have to try it in the effects return. I've also been thinking about getting another valve to try out so I'll look for a Mullard.
