2.
Whoa!! Don't drill if you don't have a problem. How hot does your amp run? It sounds like your 6U case is OK but the OP was talking about 4U cases. Do you get a burning smell? I did which is why I made some holes in the handle plate.
No, I don't get a burning smell at all. There is heat coming off the valves but no burning smell. I had a 4 hour rehearsal last night and the amp worked fine without overheating or getting a problem.
 3. Hi Matt, I'll get the tape measure out tonight and let you know. For a rough guide, the Mesa 400+ is 4u rack height if that helps? I suppose you can always pad the inside of the case with a little bit of foam to make it a snug fit if it's too tall. Cheers, Jim.
 4.
I would think that the extra space above the amp is allowing convection to bring cooler air into the back of the amp. I didn't have that on my 4U case.
Does anyone else have an opinion on this before I take a drill to the side of my Gator case?
 5.
Sounds like the shallow case is OK then, but main thing for me was the amount of space at the side for the air flow to the fan. The SKB is 450mm between the handle covers which is exactly the width of the Boogie 400+. Sounds like the Gator case is wider than the SKB. The Gator web site has some size info.
No, you are right on the space between the side of the amp and the case. I'd better check mine out tonight as I never thought about the fan blowing in from the side. I assumed that having 1u of space above the valves would give it sufficient air flow. Thanks for the heads up!
 6.
A Boogie 400+ is a big amp and I think it will need a full length case. You'd better check the length and the width, because there is a lot of heat generated and the fan is sucking air in from the side. On a regular SKB case there is no room between the amp and the side of the case so I had to cut holes in the side of the handle cover. Without good air flow from the side you will fry the amp!
I've had no problem with mine sitting in a 6U shallow Gator case. I wonder if that is a different size to a shallow SKB case? I do have 1U of space free between the Mesa and my rack tuner though.
 7.
Just taken a look at that Bass and wow that is very nice. I've just registered for an account on the Dean forum with the intention of putting my name down for one. As long as it does run at the expected £400-£500 I think my bank account won't suffer too much as well.
Excellent, nice one mate! People are getting on the list at a rapid rate so you have done the right thing jumping on now before they run out of spaces. The price is going to be annouced by the end of October with deposits required by the end of December, the final payment would be due around April next year. There is plenty of time to save up . They have updated the photoshop to show the creme binding on the headstock now too. I don't know if it's going to happen but, we are thinking about having DOA # of 25 written on the truss rod cover as well as stamped on the back of the headstock.
 8. Hi, I have mine in a 6U with a blanking plate and a Korg tuner. It will fit fine in a 4U Gator, I have one for sale in fact if you are interested!
 9. Hi mate, Yes, they are all right angle jacks. I'm not interested in effects trades, thanks for the offer though! Cheers, Jim.
 10. Go on....you know you want my Eden 8*10 in a swap..ha ha! People, these Mesa cabs really do rock! Somebody get this beauty, it's killing me!!!
 11. Hi, I had this patch bat made for my pedal board but then realised I have no use for a pedal board anymore, doh! It is brand new and built by Red Onion Solutions. The stickers can come off if you want, it's 8 jacks connected as 4 pairs, powder coated red. Very small footprint on your board (see photo with my phone as a size guide). £20 including P & P Cheers, Jim
 12. Hi, I have a flightcase for a Mesa 400+ Head, very sturdy built to last. The head sits on the bottom, the top lifts off and a panel in the front lifts out to allow access to the Mesa controls. £65 please, but due to the weight collection is preferable from Kent/London. You can sort out a courier of your choice if you wish though. Thanks, Jim.
 13.
Just checked my account and buying this behemoth would leave us £77.20 to live on for two weeks. The children would starve. Good luck with the sale, although secretly I hope it's still there for when I have some more cash.
Ha ha! Thanks mate, you never no it might still be here.....
 14.
Shame it's not a bit closer.... i'd have had to give this serious consideration
If it helps, I am willing to drive and meet up somewhere? I think my limit would be about Nottingham though....
I just showed the pic to my guitardist saying I was considering it, he sent me a message back saying if I bought it and the gig was upstairs I would have to carry it myself
Ha ha!!! Get the lazy buggers to lend a hand! It's on tilt-back wheels which make it easy to move. I'll take some photo's of it tonight showing the condition etc. and I'll post them up tomorrow morning.
 15.
Swap you for my Trace
Now if you said "swap you for £500" I'd have gone for it!
 16.
Aye, I imagine this combo is quite a different kettle of fish from my rig, probably more volume than you need by a fair bit! I'd be tempted myself if I wasn't in sell mode
Surrey is in Jim's delivery radius too!
 17.
I had the Nemesis NA320 head for a while, it was awesome but never quite got me the volume I need against the guitard in my originals band. Wayne, you should give this a go, I think you'd like it!
The 400 Watt 8 * 10 easily has enough to go against a loud drummer and 2 Mesa 4 * 12 Guitarists in my band . One of the great things about the 8 * 10 format is that it is so clear on stage due to the speaker being so tall and near ear height.
 18. waynepunkdude, I'm just down the road from you in West Kingsdown! I could even deliver it to you free of charge! LOL! My Misses said it was too big but I bought it anyway. When my fingers healed again from her stamping on them, it was great to play! Thanks for the endorsement Stephen!
 19.
Ah yeah, i remember seeing that before, VERY nice looking bass that
Thanks Man, I like it too. The neck pickup is lovely and growley just like my Gibson Thunderbird...nice!
