  1. Is this as do-able as it sounds? I assume nut adjustment but will regular 4 string take the tension ok?
  2. What is the colour? It beautiful
  3. Ah, same bass in my profile pic. A terrific Bass, killer tone and plays really great. Guild really nailed those pups
  4. Nice, how good is the keeper, because this one is lovely. Mine is is the natural finish which is mellowing to a lovely butterscotch. Good luck with the sale, these BB2000's rarely come along
  5. The king BB. These are a 'Cadillac' of a bass. Would never sell mine. Someone's gonna get a cracking bass.
  6. A sublime bass, what a fantastic neck.. Good luck with the sale, who ever gets this will be well happy..

    Highly strung?
  8. Have to say i have struggled with unity gain with darkglass B7k and OmegaAlpha. They are great if you use them 100%. Maybe it's just me, but if i dialed in the drive to more 9 o'clock, then UG became unobtainable.. The ultra models have a master volume, so should be no issue there
  9. I had a great time picking up two special basses from Niels, I decided to take a road trip to Berlin to deal face to face. Neil's is a guy of integrity, so deal with confidence. He also helped me out with a bunch of off topic stuff while I was here. Cheers Niels, please dealing with you
  10. Had a great time picking up a couple of very special Basses from Maut. I decided to take a road trip to Berlin to do the deal face to face. Niels is a top man who is integrity personified. If you want to deal with Maut, do so with confidence. He's one of lifes good guys... Cheers Niels
  11. Thanks guys, Another notch on my knowledge stick 🤔
  12. Fabulous basses, and there is something with that particular finish that just doesn't reproduce in a photograph. Mesmerizing finish..
  13. Hi folks, advice please. I picked up a BB 2024x a while ago and it's a great bass with a wonderful P bass tone. However, I noticed that the tone control does nothing until the last 20% ish. Then it rolls off nicely, (just using smaller adjustments). Anyhow, I thought I could just replace it. I ordered the correct replacement out from Yamaha Japan, and the new pot is exactly the same? Not a big issue, but I am curious. Can it be that these bases are made this way? Any other BB owners or other basses that are like this? Any thoughts? Cheers
  14. Hi, I found a 71 a little closer to home, so I will take a look at that one first. I can take contact if nothing comes of it. Cheers
  15. Any consensus on older Vs newer SB-1s..? similar tone, feel etc??
  16. What is the Midland bass bash?? I live abroad these days, but are from the Midlands. Bass bash and Sunday dinner with me mum sounds like a plan..
  17. Yeah, I been going round in circles with it. Thanks for the tip though, and huge thanks for the link
  18. Bass set up technique is often subject to a bit of opinion, but I wonder if anyone has experience or knowledge with set up using a micro tilt neck. I know some folk think tilt neck to be a useless feature, but Hartley Peavey only included height adjustment in the T 40 bridge saddles because he said 'Fender would use it against him if he didn't'. Anyhow, my question is what is the correct sequence to set up a bass with tilt neck. Saddles as low as possible? Saddle adjust before tilt? Truss rod last?
  19. Nice, I thought those early ones had a wide nut, tell you what though, the play wear shows it has been played a lot... always a good sign. Nice buy
  20. I have a slightly different experience. I picked up an '82 eko FL like the one in the vid. Got if for cheap money. The black nylon coated strings are original and look and feel like 70's push bike brake cables. It has a massive body, but still no real volume. It plays beautifully. Got sissy lines, and though this vid has poor audio, the low volume tone is nice enough, and great for chilling with just like in the vid..... I decided to fit a Piezo, but didn't want to drill the body, and with no peg holes, was unsure how to accurately fit it... The bridge on the bass is not glued to the body (on mine anyway). Its held in place by the string tension. So I simply put the piezo under the bridge... now, not a long term solution, because the is so much out put that I have to back my amps away off, and get feed back if I don't move far away. That said, I'm able to play it at band volume and it's mighty if not that sweet. I'm really fond of it. If you think you'd enjoy one, do it. I have also played a Furch FL bass, and they are lovely.
  21. Those pups get a lot of love.. what's the nut width on it. Been Gasin' for an SB 1 for ages. Nice buy
  22. Do you have the case and covers?
  23. Any chance of some audio files for this one?
  24. I will be based in Brum over easter. I'll get my flights booked and give you a nod. I may fly to London for a spot of P bass browsing.
